A beginner should have little to no issue using this as it’s pretty straight forward. The screen is beautiful. Battery life is always something that could be improved so no comment there. Tablet use is a bit funny considering the size, better off using like a little laptop—on a secure surface only as the design isn’t a literal laptop structure.

I love looking at the screen and how portable it is. But two big problems 1) It won't work on video calls. Zoom and Teams both cut out, glitch and freeze. Windows devices for Zoom and Teams work great on my wifi if you're thinking that's the problem. 2) It won't regularly update Chrome OS. It never updates, I'm stuck on 105.xx and it says I'm up to date when my other Chromebooks (including an old Duet) are all on 109.xx. Lenovo customer service/'executive support' has offered to refund my money. They already had me send it to their repair center for a 'motherboard replacement.'

Posted .Hello, KLCO, we are sorry to hear that you have encountered an issue with your IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. . In advance, this is a lengthy response, however we want to give you and other readers of this response as much information as possible to help ensure your issue is resolved should you encounter something similar in the future. If you are still having this issue, first, we recommend doing a reset on the device. Pushing the power button, or rebooting, does not remove the trickle charge that keeps the embedded controller (EC) running. A hard reset drops all power to the EC, so when the power comes back on it goes through a reinitialization. Since the EC controls the keyboard, touchpad, battery, and all other on-board peripherals, performing this it can potentially fix a wide range of problems. The procedure is detailed on this web page: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en . Some devices require specific steps, but most newer devices only require a simple keyboard sequence: First turn off your Chromebook completely (do not just close the lid). Next, hold down the Refresh keyboard icon key and then press and hold the Power button. Hold both down for 10 seconds. Release the Refresh key and then the Power button and your Chromebook will restart. If it does not start, press Power again. If your issues persist after this, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Tech Support for Chromebooks at this number: 800-426-7378.

Only use it as a tablet. Didn't give it a five because it's hard to get back to pages, and you have to swipe up to see all windows open and then close them that way. You can't close a screen when you're on that web page. Maybe there's a way, but I haven't found it yet.

I rate it 4 stars, as a stand alone product thats where it sits. Its a chromebook, and all limitations that come with it. All the benefits that also come with it The tablet/laptop at 13" is good and bad, landscape makes videos nice but I prefer the 3:2 on larger sized tablets. The processor, is the lowest end you can get without being horribly limited, so a pro/con. The storage is a ssd, slower end, but vastly better than slower emmc on lower end sizes. Keyboard isnt great, but ive used far worse. Screen is actually really nice, a little dim, but still very nice. Build quailty is great, still cheap, but solid. To sum it all up, its a chromebook. Not a top end, now a low end, but for the price, your getting way more than you pay for honestly. If you want something smaller, the original lenovo duet is also great.
