Ellcelent lap top. It does get hot very quick and battery needs to be recharged more often than normal.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus 15.6" Gaming Laptop has truly wowed me. As someone who loves gaming, I’m always hunting for laptops that can perform exceptionally, and this one hit all the right marks. Performance-wise, the combo of AMD Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 is a dream come true. It handles demanding games effortlessly, providing smooth gameplay and outstanding graphics. Whether I’m exploring vast worlds or intense battles, this laptop’s performance is consistently amazing. With 16GB DDR5 memory, multitasking is a breeze, even with many apps open. The 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD offers ample storage and rapid loading times. The real star here is the 15.6" WQHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The visuals are stunning, bringing games to life with sharp detail and fluid motion. It’s like stepping into the game world. The sleek Eclipse Gray design adds a touch of elegance to the gaming look. It works great and is lightweight but heats up way too often and quickly.

Completely changed my life (granted I was using a decade old computer) but this bad boy has been able to do it all. I can run Baldurs Gate 3 on ultra settings. There is only one down side and that is it gets very hot. The fans I feel don’t circulate the air enough. I bought a fan stand for it and haven’t had problems with it since!

This laptop was straightforward to set up out of the box. The construction feels sturdy and I don't feel like I have to worry about it breaking easily. I have tested a few games and some day-to-day apps such as office and am very happy with the speed and display quality. This should be a good daily driver for several years.

If you’re on a budget but don’t want to sacrifice quality, this laptop is definitely the way to go! I purchased it as an upgrade to my daily laptop and was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but as long as you treat it right and maintain and update it you shouldn’t have any issues like the lower reviewers had. I play RPG’s and don’t run into any lag, no buffering during higher resolution videos, and it stays charged for quite a few hours on battery saver mode and about 4-5 hours on the absolute highest settings. The only downside I would really point out is that it does get really hot if you’re pushing the graphics card to its limits but that’s to be expected. The fans do kick in though and help it cool off, but a cooling mat would be a good add on to purchase. Otherwise I love my new daily laptop, and it even replaced my gaming desktop for my favorite PC games as well. Don’t sleep on this little power house!

Writing this review 3 years after I bought it. Honestly one of the best laptops I have ever owned. It runs strong, I use it for heavy gaming, and light streaming if I am playing a less intensive game. Battery life is good kinda falls off after 3 years but cuttin down the brightness and not running the RGB on the keyboard helps immensely with that.

This laptop was so nice, but I had to return it because it just took too long to boot up. I’ve heard ASUS doesn’t put the best drives in the laptops so maybe if I swapped the drive I would’ve kept it. Other than that, it’s got a lot of connectivity, and a great display. Keyboard felt nice and it opens with one hand which is a small detail I like.

Loud and hot but a powerhouse for a laptop in this price range, get it on sale if you can.

Had the laptop for 2 years and i absolutely love it. Recently started having issues with the fans though.

Great machine for video-heavy apps like CAD software. Does run hot to keep it cool and watch how its stored, power off and in a sleeve that won't overheat easily.

It isnt the best laptop out there, but for the money your paying, it is a very conpetent laptop, ive had mine since early August this year, so around 3 months now. I love it, the only thing I might do is add a 32 gb ram to replace the 8gb ram because the low ram affects the gaming performance.

I have had good experiences with this laptop, the display is great, powerful enough to play fortnite epic setting. However, before playing game, remember to upgrade the armoury crate application and turn your laptop to gaming mode. In that mode, you really use your RTX 3060. without updating armoury crate, you just play game with your on-board GPU and it is not enough. one more thing about the product, the fan quite noisy at first but you will get used to it. the boot-up sound is so noisy and might caught you off guard, but you can turn it off in Armoury Crate

This thing performs way better than I expected, and the Asus Armoury Crate makes me wish my gaming desktop was an Asus based machine as well. I got this mostly because I want to get out of my workshop from time to time where I both work and do most of my gaming and making. Being in there 24/7 made me start to hate it. I play mostly Minecraft and Apex Legends, when on my laptop, and this does that magnificently on highest settings for both. I also fired up the Xbox app and started playing games like Just Cause 4, Forza Horizon 5, and Gears. It handles all of them beautifully. I figured the Nvidia card only being a RTX 3060 would send me back to my desktop for any serious gaming, but suprisingly I haven't found it lacking yet. You do have to set the refresh rate to 165hz in Windows settings, which I wish you could do via the Armoury Crate (maybe I just haven't found it yet), but everything else, including switching from iGPU to dGPU is so smooth. The keyboard feels excellent, the sound is decent, and the touchpad is the best I've used (my other two laptops are HP Spectre x360 and an M1 macbook, and this touchpad IMO is better than both). I did at least 2 weeks of comparing machines, and budget wasn't really a limiting factor, I just wanted to get the best value that I could considering my other machines. I had 2 other machines that were $1.8K and $2k respectively, and I'm super happy that I went with this machine instead of the others, which basically the only difference being a more powerful graphics card. It has both types of USB ports for both modern type-A devices, and traditional type-A gaming devices. Anther nice touch is the microSD card slot, which makes it easy for me to format cards for SoC and embedded devices, and GoPro cards. I can finally throw away all the adapters. I'm also ordering a new M2 SSD, since this has an empty expansion slot. One last thing; I thought the rainbow colored stippling on the lid looked kinda dumb in the pictures, but the pictures can't really display them correctly. In real life you can't see it unless there's a light shining on it, and then it refracts color in a rainbow pattern, and the overall effect is very similar to paint on cars that shift colors as you look at it/light hits it from different angles. Wound up being very cool.

I purchased this laptop for my son who loves gaming. He was so surprised to receive this as a graduation gift. He said that it is fast, and even more capable than his desktop. It was a perfect gift, and I am overall pleased. I am sorry I don't speak the tech lingo, but overall, it made a perfect item to get him through college & time away as he enlists.

This is just MY experience with the laptop, so please take this with a grain of salt and buy at your own discretion. I don’t have any photos of it, because it’s already back at Best Buy. I purchased my first laptop of this one and when I brought it home, I absolutely loved the laptop. The fact you can customize your keyboard, you can sign in with Face ID similar to a smart phone, how many taps and apps you can keep open, the quality of the display, how smooth it ran bigger games, it just felt like a quality laptop. The only three things I wasn’t keen on before it starting having actual issues was the battery life, for one. If plugged in, you can run it on performance mode at max brightness with the keyboard also at max brightness (obviously, it’s on the charger so no power is being taken away). If you were to play games on it off of the charger, I highly suggest running it on battery saver, which you’ll loose SOME graphics power on games and I was only able to get about three games of WarZone in, and that was with the brightness down a little below half and the keyboard lights completely off. My second issue is Windows 11, I’m completely aware there’s nothing to be done about that because it comes with Windows 11. Windows 11 just has a lot of kinks and bugs itself that still need work and time. If you want to know the nitty gritty of why people are preferring Windows 10 over 11, ask a friend or an expert who has way more knowledge on that than I do, all I can say is prefer Windows 10 way more. The third is it feels like DECENT build quality. If you press down slightly on the top of it when it’s closed it feels flimsy. I suggest when opening and closing it, use two hands, one on each corner on the top. Now into my issues. The first laptop I purchased started running into issues about a week and a half to two weeks of me owning the laptop. It just started to not turn on and not respond, I thought no big deal, I’ll just go and exchange it for another one just like it. I wanted to go with a different device but unfortunately I was financing it through Progressive Financing. Which, is just a me issue not necessarily anyone who buys one out and owns it themselves and can exchange it maybe for something cheaper and get a small refund. Anyways; onto the second device. It worked well for maybe a week and I got more issues, when I plugged it in, my display would just go black. I thought well, no big deal I’ll just plug it in before class so it’ll be fully charged, which is what I did. I’ll just keep the brightness dim and the keyboard off, and keep it on battery saver the whole class period, which my class was about two and a half hours, so I wouldn’t need to charge it. I pressed the power button, the power light blinked on then off. Did it two more times after that and it did the same thing. Pressed my power button a fourth time and it finally came on. It powered on for maybe ten to fifteen minutes, and it happened again; the display went black. Didn’t plug it in, didn’t do anything different, just went black. The power light stayed on, keyboard stayed lit, just my display went out and didn’t come back on. I brought it to Best Buy, of course when the guy turned it on it came on, but sure enough when he plugged it in the display went unresponsive and wouldn’t come back on. So, he removed my contract with Progressive and got a cheap $109 Asus laptop for now to do schoolwork. I think the laptop itself is amazing power wise and it’s capabilities, however the hardware issues I had made me not want to get it or anything similar. I think any (and this is just MY opinion, just do your research before spending the money) I think any high end laptop that uses that much power and resources is bound to have issues because everything is compacted into a slim case. I believe it has to due with a high end graphics card mashed into a slim case that produces majority of the issues, but again that’s just my opinion. PLEASE do your own research before you drop this much money on this. Now, pros and cons. Pros: -Display is crisp and clean -Ram, graphics, and cpu power is adequate for most gaming and software capabilities -Rgb keyboard -Face ID to log into the laptop -Really nice design of laptop and box that it comes in -Accessibility to change the rbg lighting and change if you’re using the cpu for graphics for the gpu Cons: -Liable to have hardware issues -Battery lift isn’t amazing -The build quality of the top panel, where the display, also doesn’t feel $1600 worth Overall, if your device doesn’t have hardware issues and you’re okay with running it on the charger, 10/10 laptop. But with my issues, giving it only three stars.

This is a great laptop, especially for gaming. I use it for school work, business work, and gaming. It may not be the best option for high performance and graphic demanding games, but I have been able to play MW3 and other games just fine on it.

For the price I think there were better options. I bought it on sale but I still didn't like it at all. It has a bad battery, it overheats too much when playing games in general. The lack of USB ports works against it and the position for the charger is also bad.
