So far the usb and sdcard ports fail to stay connected. Meaning if you put an sdcard in the sdcard slot, or use a usb to sdcard device, it randomly disconnects. I can not recommend because of the price this is selling for. I think I paid $89 and that is too much.

Touchpad failed on day one

I gifted it and the person will not take the time to have it replaced, very frustrated. She took it in they worked on it, again it worked for a day and failed. They are using a mouse instead of the touchpad.

Seriously though, purchased this in 2022 & was skeptical cause the amazing price. But literally it's 2025 &I STILL use this as my main laptop today. It's great, easy to use &the battery life is never ending. Easy to get work done on &multitask on. Love it. 1000000 recommend.

I have had a half of dozen of these over the years and can say do not buy these! You get what you pay for. This past year has been joke for all Chromeos Devices for me. Chromebox went bad after an update back in the summer, New Chromebook locked me out and shut down and now another new one just randomly shut down....Currently using another one that was sent in for repair last winter...what gives with these?

Pushing the power button, or rebooting, does not remove the trickle charge that keeps the embedded controller (EC) running. A hard reset drops all power to the EC, so when the power comes back on it goes through a reinitialization. Since the EC controls the keyboard, touchpad, battery, and all other on-board peripherals, performing this it can potentially fix a wide range of problems. The procedure is detailed on this web page: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en . Some devices require specific steps, but most newer devices only require a simple keyboard sequence: First turn off your Chromebook completely (do not just close the lid). Next, hold down the Refresh keyboard icon key and then press and hold the Power button. Hold both down for 10 seconds. Release the Refresh key and then the Power button and your Chromebook will restart. If it does not start, press Power again.
