Crashed on initial setup

I went through the setup steps. In the middle of setup, the screen went completely black, but the power button remained lit as if it were still turned on. Tried giving it a charge for a while, which didn't do anything. Tried holding the power button in several seconds to turn it off, but the light never would go out. I'm stumped. Contacted Best Buy Total Tech by online chat, since I paid for this service, and they literally told me to make an appointment and bring it back in. I literally drove 50 miles to the closest Best Buy when I just bought this. To think I have to drive another 50 miles and bring in a brand new, just opened product is beyond frustrating. And what is the point of having an online tech support, if all they're going to do is tell you to bring it back in?!

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you encountered an issue with the Flex 3 11 Chromebook. If you are still having this issue, first, we recommend doing a reset on the device. Pushing the power button, or rebooting, does not remove the trickle charge that keeps the embedded controller (EC) running. A hard reset drops all power to the EC, so when the power comes back on it goes through a reinitialization. Since the EC controls the keyboard, touchpad, battery, and all other on-board peripherals, performing this it can potentially fix a wide range of problems. The procedure is detailed on this web page: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en . Some devices require specific steps, but most newer devices only require a simple keyboard sequence: First turn off your Chromebook completely (don't just close the lid). Next, hold down the Refresh keyboard icon key and then press and hold the Power button. Hold both down for 10 seconds. Release the Refresh key and then the Power button and your Chromebook will restart. If it does not start, press Power again. If your issues persist after this, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Tech Support for Chromebooks at this number: 800-426-7378.

Keeps from becoming personalized. Unless your willing to sacrifice your available memory for that. Also, although I was reassured by a BEST BUY associate that it absolutely did, it absolutely DOES NOT have light up keyboard. Such a downer...
