I did make one immediate change and that was bumping up the hard drive size to 1TB - which BestBuy had in stock!

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DO NOT BUY FROM BEST BUY …THEY SELL REFURBISHED ITEMS AS NEW PRODUCTS …….Best Buy advertise as if they are selling new products but really selling refurbished products. I purchased a laptop in June it stop working in August. I called Best Buy they told me it’s under manufacture warranty. I called Dell gave them the information on the laptop and Dell told me the laptop was a 2 yr old refurbished laptop and there is not warranty. I called Best Buy back and customer service refused to allow me to speak to a manager and told me to take it in to a Best Buy geek squad. The guy said I can’t do anything for you. I called Best Buy again and the guy refused to allow me to speak wit a manager.The store manager in Snellville said all our items are refurbished and said he can’t refund me because it’s outside of the return date. Finally he said he will send it out to Best Buy warranty department but can’t guarantee anything. I got the laptop back after a month they replaced the hardware but not to the original hardware they advertised. I still haven’t spoken to a manager and they refuse to refund my money.

I did extensive research in choosing a new one and I am satisfied that this Dell was a good choice. It is fast and efficient. I very much like the touch option too.

The touchpad and keyboard were glitching. Now, my new one (which I've had for one month) is having the same problem! Apparently this is an issue that multiple people have had. Maybe I just had bad luck, but if I were you, I would go with a different one. Or at least buy the protection plan through BestBuy, because if I hadn't done that I would not have been able to exchange the first time. The battery life is excellent, I will say that much.

Thank you for leaving us a review of your Inspiron laptop. We are sorry you are experiencing touchpad issues. Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:
1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
6. Change the options as preferred.
7. Touch or click Save.
8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
