Awesome device and well worth every penny

I have a PS5, Quest 2, and Switch. I love gaming, but felt left out if the Xbox ecosystem. I didn't want to have to build up a steam library or invest in a high end gaming PC. I use my G cloud to remote play my PS5 with over 10.6 TB of games (600 GB console, 2 TB ssd added, and 8 TB external drive) that's just under 500 games I have access to. I started Xbox game pass Ultimate and have access to another 400 games. I'm emulating Game cube and Wii games with a 512 gb sd card I have access to hundreds of emulated games locally. The G cloud struggles with most Wii games and some game cube games. I also like playing my Android games Diablo, COD mobile, Chrono Trigger, The New Final fantasy game just launched, and a few others. The button mapping is awesome and gives a huge advantage in COD mobile. I just started playing and hit MVP regularly. Normally I'd never play android games because I hate using touch screen controls. The G cloud has opened up more gaming opportunities for me. I considered a ROG and Steam deck, countless times I put them in my shopping carts and took them back out. I didnt want to deal with the battery life, building up a gaming library when I already had access to over a thousand games. I didn't want to worry about all the tehnical tinkering, the loud fan sounds, the heat. I didn't want to go back to a 720p display like on my switch. I enjoy gaming with crisp bright visuals and can get in long gaming sessions. The G cloud meets all my needs and I can seemlessly switch from my Xbox games, to PS5, to android, to emulated games in seconds. I hardly ever reach for a gamepad controller despite having my set up on a 65" 4k TV and everything also connected to a 4k 120 inch projector display. It's just way too convienent to have everything in one place. I can lay back in my recliner and jump between all my gaming options, in other rooms in the house. The wife is happier when I'm around her instead of my mancave. The screen on the G cloud is gorgeous, the sound is great. I honestly find myself turning the sound down because it gets loud and this is coming from someone that games using a surround sound system. I have a 1GB internet connection with about 45 devices hogging my bandwith keeping about 500 mbs open for gaming. My cell's 5G pulls between 200 and 300 mbs so I'm never in a situation where I don't have fast internet connections. I play a lot of Destiny 2 on my G cloud and between my PS5 pulling internet to connect to the servers and using internet to send info back to my G cloud I never have any issues with latency or lag. That's about as demanding as you can currently get on your internet and remote gaming. I've even tested it by using the g cloud as a controller while remote playing my PS5 with my TV screen on. I was able to get my hands on this device for $300. While the hardware is nothing to brag about it has opened up xbox gaming, emulation, and android gaming I would normally not have access to. I paid like $60 for an xbox controller another $60 for a ps5 controller just to use remotely, a phone attachable controller for $50, a phone clip for $12. That's $182 to have remote access from my samsung galaxy s20 ultra which in comparison to most phones already has a huge screen. I wish I would have known about the G cloud sooner. It's more convienent then clipping, attaching. pairing and unpairing to my phone and I don't have to lug around 2 different controllers or worry about my battery life. Plus the G cloud's screen is bigger despite owning a cellphone thag already has one of the largest screens on the market excluding fold and flip designs. Also I no longer have to pair my xbox controller to my chromebook or fire cube to stream xbox games. Another thing to note I have a $1200 Asus Chromebook 12 GBs of ram and I core 5 processor 512 internal storage with a 15" screen. You would think my Asus would perform better than my G cloud for Xbox game pass. It doesn't. I don't know what kind of wizardry logitech use to make their G cloud. On paper the specs are inferrior to my Asus and for some weird reason it outperforms for streaming games. My only guess is the G cloud only allows you to run 1 function at a time and maybe that is less taxing on the processor and low memory. People are constantly complaining about the G cloud's price saying it's a $200 to $250 device. Really you're going to hold out on buying it over $50? 2 or 3 days of eatting fastfood will net you $50. With the G cloud you're paying for the convince of a long battery life, no tinkering, on demand portable gaming in a much more pleasant form factor than most options.

You can play good titles but the only fault of the device low frame rate and 1080p screen definitely a work in progress I would better opt in for the steam deck in the future

    Computer companion device

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This device has its niche place as a computer companion device. I stream my gaming rig to it which allows me to play anywhere around the house. Which is perfect and far better quality than playing games on my Steam Deck. With my 3090ti I can turn on ray tracing, set the game to 1080p and get rock solid 60fps. The screen on the G Cloud is what the Steam Deck should have had. Don’t get me wrong the Steam Deck has its place… playing games away from home or if you don’t have a dedicated pc. But for local streaming. This thing is perfect. Admittedly the price could have been better.

So wanted this to work the way it was supposed to. Every game I tried to stream from X Box was a delay with the controller and made it difficult to play any games. Will just use my Switch Lite with no delay. Returning it ASAP.

Beat of the best android handhelds

Honestly the price is a tad high for the specs but there arent any android handhelds in this price range with this size screen either. This is hands down the best device for game streaming for the money. Im not much for cloud but from mu ps5 (get psplay) and steam its amazing. Nothing else this comforable or good looking. Well built and wokrs great for the purpose. Its premium pricing for the low processor spec for sure but it feels premium.

Great handheld, if you can get the right price!

I bought a G Cloud secondhand for less than $200, and at the price I paid for it I am incredibly happy with it. I have used other more powerful handhelds in the past and enjoyed them but one thing or another kept them from being great. The G Cloud is excellent at streaming, the screen and larger analog sticks translate well to a larger game. For example with the AYN Odin 2 I was able to stream from my PS5 very well, but between the smaller sticks and screen precise movements (like aiming my bow in Horizon Zero Dawn) became difficult and took a lot of the enjoyment out of the experience. This is practically a non issue with the g cloud, nothing will make it 1-1 with using my PS5 or PC but this is so close that it does not detract from the experience. I have also added some emulators to this system and while it is functional it is definitely not my preferred way to play retro titles, I would rather have a smaller more inexpensive retro handheld for those titles.

Works really well for streaming games from your console. Comfortable to hold and long battery life. Depending on your internet connection speed cloud gaming worked really well. Almost no lag in control input. Overall was a joy to use as long as you realize what it is intended to do.

Cool Consept, Just Missed The Mark

I like this device and think it is a cool idea, it is mainly more for ‘remote play’. Which was sort of a shock to me as I was hoping they had their own form of cloud based gaming servers. I was mistaken, the main purpose for this device is to use your already owned systems (PS,PC,XB) and remote play from them. It runs and preforms well at those task. However without having those systems near by to host a remote play session the device is practically useless unfortunately. If they were to somehow make their own cloud based servers I think this would be worth the $350. Until that day I would save up a little more and do what I did and buy the ASUS ROG ALLY, or look into other devices that run windows independently.

    Backbone Alternative

This offers good battery life, and honestly a decent picture. Would take this over a backbone, as this has more independence. In a way a Switch but better with a few more options such as media and google chrome.
