    This is my 3rd HP printer. I know the quality of things change but the trays seem cheap and are flimsy. I’m afraid I will break them when changing paper!

    Two weeks after I bought this printer, I had printing problems, no color, smeared print and dropped lines. I tried the basic head cleaning with no results. I contacted HP Support who showed me how to perform the advanced cleaning processes. After numerous attempts it did resolve the problem but now I wonder if this will be an ongoing issue.

    This printer cost me $100. I thought I was getting a deal. However, I have spent double the cost of the printer in ink in 18 months. I only printed a few pages a month, most often in draft mode to save on ink. I would shut down the printer when I finished printing in the way recommended by the manufacturer's instruction. This did not help in any way to slow down the ink usage. I went to the large ink cartridges thinking they would last me longer. Nope! I watched my large magenta ink cartridge on my screen go from half full to 25% full just from the printer booting up. (And remember, I said I followed the manufacturer's instruction on how to shut down the printer to prevent this from happening.) I will never buy an HP printer again. I have switched back to Epson--and one that uses bottles instead of cartridges!
