I recently purchased a Canon EOS R8, I had a Sony a6100 before. Most of the reviews I saw used to praise Canon more than Sony & that's why I made this purchase. But after using both the systems I wouldn't say that Canon is better than Sony. My previous Sony a6100 with Sony 70-350 G lens produced some amazing pictures.

It was a great camera until it wasn't. Sadly, about 5 months out of warranty and a circuit board failure resulted in the dreaded no card in camera error. I tried the basic troubleshooting steps and finally ended up sending it to the Canon service center ($400 later, the camera is on its way back to me. YMMV, but I expect a camera this expensive to have better quality. It's been used exclusively inside with no drops or misuse.
