This Dell Inspiron is in-between being a low-end and a high-end laptop. I think for most people this checks a lot of boxes and accomplishes a lot. Someone who wants the best of the best will get a more premium laptop from Dell or another company. However, for most people this is perfect. The screen has a major drawback, it does not get bright enough. I showed my family a website and they had a hard time reading it. We were inside with minimal light coming through the windows. It is brighter when you look straight at it. If someone is looking from the side it loses half of its brightness. Using this outside will be nearly impossible. Besides that, I have no other issues with the screen. It seems to be a 16:10 aspect ratio. Which is great because you get more real estate. It’s a 1900x1200 resolution that looks clear. It is also a touchscreen. In terms of performance, it seems to be pretty powerful. I knew without a doubt it could handle web browsing or Word. My main worry is that, could it handle Photoshop, video editing or some light gaming? I will say it has had no problem with whatever I have thrown at it. Of course, I would not buy this to replace a gaming laptop. However, for someone who plays Among Us or Minecraft, light games like that, it will be just fine. I was surprised how smooth video playback was when I was in Premiere Pro. It did not hiccup at all. It also does wake up quickly if I put it in sleep mode. Most people will never have to worry about it running out of space, 1TB is plenty. Also, it’s SSD and not HDD, which improves performance. The build is great. It is light but not ultra-light like an ultrabook. There are not any sharp edges. It feels durable. Compared to an Apple laptop, those are built to be more durable but this is pretty close. I have no issues with the keyboard and it’s a great addition that its backlit. There is also a finger print reader. It has unlocked for me every time except one time. Overall, pretty accurate. There is a great port selection. I am surprised that for something so thin, they included an SD card reader and a full-size HDMI port. That is unheard of on most laptops. The speakers sound great. My only gripe would be the hinge. It is impossible to open with one hand. I have grown accustomed to laptops that open easily like that. I travel a lot. My job gives me a loaner laptop that is about ten years old. I will be traveling with this laptop now. I have been testing different wall plugs to see if I bring a smaller adapter when I travel. I have a 30W plug and a USB C cable that charges the computer fine. I tried a 12W and 20W and nothing happened. It did recommend I use the supplied 65W charger. It does not charge fast but that’s alright. Even if I am doing something that is pushing the system, it should last the 4-5 hours I need it for. Then it can charge overnight. I am happy, I now have a lighter, more powerful laptop and a lighter power adapter now.

Unfortunately, the very first purchase I had with this laptop was an open box. Apparently it was certified and it turned out to be defective so I had to return the Best Buy return this and get a new laptop. Other than that the new upgraded laptop is perfectly geeks squad did not do a very good job of certifying the open box.
