Almost perfect gaming handheld
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The perfect gaming handheld with only one downside. This will play whatever game you want and look beautiful while doing it. The only downside is the battery only last 4 hours at best and usually 1-2 hours depending on what game you play. If you purchase this make sure to get a power bank also that can output 65w+ for when you're not near an outlet.

Great even for christmas 2025
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this from Open Box, it was in *perfect* condition, and as a device, this is the best purchase I could have made for 400-500 dollars. Excellent performance for the package, and to this day, far removed from release day, it's still one of the best performers out there. Battery is a bit short. Actually, really short. on 25W, necessary for AAA gaming, you'll get 45min-1h. I recommend using 17 or 18W, where you get 80% ish of the max performance, but battery will last you closer to 2 hours. Problem being that for harder to run AAA, this means you'll not have 30+ fps. Anyway... I love this thing and I'm SUPER excited for the future of handhelds because this little guy is a BEAST as it is.

Absolutely in love!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my ROG Ally. I pretty much use it for every. Obviously i game on it more than anything. But i use it for everything else as well. I use it for online college classes, editing videos and programing my racing drones on the go. I got rid of my xbox series s and my gaming pc and just use this. Get a dock for it and hook it up to your pc monitor. Good to go!

Extreme portable pc handheld device!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after doing much research on a handheld gaming portable pc. I do own a Nintendo switch oled because i only like to play on handheld mode. Its my preference in playing the switch but i wanted to play better triple A titles so the Asus ROG Ally is the perfect fit.. i chose the Ally over the steam deck because i do play on the xbox and the Ally uses Windows as their main web base platform so it was easy to continue and play some of my xbox/pc titles on the Ally. For those of you who have never even played on pc, like me, getting used to the Ally's menus wasnt that difficult to navigate through. You can still download other apps, like steam, EA, Ubisoft, and so on, to play other titles that arent on the Xbox game pass, which youll need in order to play on it. If you alreasy have an xbox game pass account you can just transfer it onto the Asus. The Asus is smooth and quiet running. The battery life can vary depending on which titles you play. Play something like Starfield and you're looking at around a little over an hour of play. If you're someone like me that just likes to play around the house, then this is for you. You can plug it in to get extra graphic power on those drmanding games. If you want it to play out on the road then you will have to lower its power and resolution to save power. For storage it can come with 512 gigs but some of the newer titles can run up past 100 gigs. You can buy a sd card or upgrade its ssd drive but that'll require to take apart the Ally and install yourself, if your comfortable with that. Its not difficult but you will need special tools.

Love it, even with poor battery life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a dad its hard to find time to sit down and play a game. When i do game its typically not more than an hour. The ally is oerfect for this! Ive been playing gamepass, steam, WoW, PS remote play and more. I got it on sale and recommend you do too. i also picked up a battery just in case. Battery life is typically 90 minutes.

Personal preference
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned both Rog ally and Legion go and I personally went with the Rog ally. Legion go screen is beautiful and storage 1 tb is a plus but those were the only things I liked over the rog but thats not really worth paying another $200 for. Rog feels way better in hand and actually feels portable unlike the wrist busters aka legion go. Dont even get me started with software Asus is a better experience straight out of the box right now.

Great handheld, but note it’s not a console
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To potential buyers, know what you are buying, this is not a console. It runs windows 11 and understand you will not be using it as a computer when in handheld mode. It’s a great device plays tons of games flawlessly, but again, you will Not be running AAA titles at max graphics at 120hz. Battery life is what you make of it. Set your games properly and you will get 2 hours per session easy. Don’t expect to play for 6+ hours. I recommend this to gamers with above average intelligence.

Sold my laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not perfect for everyone but it's perfect for me. Have a lot of freedom with windows and less tweaking that needs to be done. Also game compatibility plays a big role and is the reason i play it more than my steam deck. Also can make it as powerful as a desktop with a xg mobile for an extra 800. I just really appreciate how versatile it is. Biggest issue is the battery but is to be expected. Overall really hope they continue supporting this and that they come out with another one but not too soon.

the potential makes it's flaws more frustratin
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's an undeniably cool concept, but poor battery life and the faulty card reader and triggers make it tough to recommend this iteration. The right trigger no longer works on my ally, so any game that makes use of it is largely unplayable. It's such a shame because the performance is really impressive.

Great gaming pc handheld
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: runs games very decent for being a handheld and it feels very comfortable for its size and its very fast. Cons: battery it’s not that good compared to the steam deck i believe and since its a white handhled if you have sweaty hands you will notice over time dirty marks on the handheld. Also the back buttons can sometimes be a hazle when playing videosgame you might press them by accident and they might close the window on accident.

Good gaming system with minor issues.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great gaming device just have to tinker with settings a bit. Battery life isn't the greatest but for an hour or so on performance mode on lunch it's great. Charges fast and the 7 inch screen is plenty big enough for games. Only issues I've had is windows having issues logging in pretty consistently so once I changed the account to a local one I've had zero issues being able to do everything on it. It does hurt your hands after a bit so a grip case is a must. The case that came with the bundle is ok, better case would be more useful but it does the job.

Great if you come in with the right expectations
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it's a great package if you know what you're getting into. Battery life kinda sucks. Get a power bank if you're away from an outlet for an extended time. A good bank around 100WH will give you 3-6 hours away from a plug without a huge amount of bulk. Running Windows is the biggest pro and biggest con. It's so much nicer than using a Steam Deck for 3rd party store support. Sure there are ways to use most others with the Deck, but Game Pass support and not needing to worry about too much extra config is great if you use those. Steam's Big Picture mode goes a long way to make it similar to the Deck when using and is lovely. If you need better mouse support though, the Legion Go or the Steam Deck are still better in this regard (RTS or other games that don't translate to controllers). I actually quite like the right thumbstick for mouse control, but only for navigation, I can't imagine using it for playing. There's a right angle adapter to fit full size 2280 m.2 drives. Get a cacheless model such as the Lexar NM790 is a great way to not increase power draw vs the supported 2230 drives. I've got 4TB with a similar power package staying in safe temps. It's wild having that much gaming library available anywhere.

As expected. Great contender to the steam deck
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With all these handhelds coming out. This one has to be my favorite. If you know windows then this will be a breeze to operate. I wish they didn’t rush it after they announced the console because there are a lot of bugs and a crucial sd card reader problem currently going on. I was one of the unfortunate ones that my sd card reader stopped working. Other that that an amazing device!

Incredible device!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this thing. I also love my steam deck. However this one ups the steam deck in nearly every category. The capability of the hardware is incredible. I do belive it needs more software refinement (just as my steam deck did at launch). I have no doubt that they will continue to improve this device via updates to unleash its full potential. Great job Asus! Being able to boot up ANY game i want to play without having to jump through hoops is incredible. Especially if you are a gamepass subscriber.

Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great overall coming from a steamer deck this is more my style. Already had windows on steam deck but was a pain to manage. This just fixes those problems and has better graphics and can handle more games. Only issue is sometimes the updates happen while playing a game.

An excellent handheld if you have a PC gamer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good gaming console, Im very impresed I can emulate GameCube on the lowest wattage that the console can bring me, it can run all my library at good framerates. The build quality is good, not perfect but is good. One of the fan is making a low frequency sound lately. The speakers are so good, the display is also good. Sometimes the software is kind of buggy, but if you have experience with Windows, is not going to be a big problem.
