Great for the price. Good device.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first device the LB button didn’t work out of the box. My second device fried my SD card. On my third device been good for a month now. Noticed that some changes to the device since my first device. No fabric tape on the fans. Different ssd brand. This one has micron and others had western digital ssd. Swapped it with a 2tb ssd. Good device. I’m used to windows nonsense. I was lucky that the other devices had issues with in the 2 week return policy at Best Buy. My current device I waited a month to purchase it again. Figured the manufacturing batch would be different and it was. Doesn’t say different sku. But it is.

Insane power in a small package
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: cooling is phenomenal, screen has retina-burning brightness and vivid colors, can essentially play *any* game. Cons: essentially not battery life, sticks could be a bit heftier (awful deadzones), and windows in general can be a pain.

Almost a great handheld
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's pretty impressive how well it runs some of the more demanding games when plugged in. Battey life and game performance drop quite a bit when unplugged. I returned the system after 10 days. My memory card stopped working and my joystick started drift a lot. Great idea and if they fix some of the issues I may get one again but I did not feel like helping Asus work or the bugs.

Love gaming on this!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it so much more than my Steam Deck. The battery isn't fantastic but not a problem if you don't mind being plugged in.

A work in progress but a fun one
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to receive this device, and I had fun setting it up and customizing it to my liking. I didn't like waiting for ASUS to update it to fix various problems at launch, though. It took about a month but I would say the device is usable in most cases and will continue to improve. Windows seems unoptimized for the Ally, but it's manageable if you know how to work with Windows 11. If you can't stand Windows don't buy this. But it's the most powerful and capable hand-held gaming device yet and will only get better in the future. The massive hate is undeserved, but keeping ASUS accountable is still important going forward.

Such convenience!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having a handheld PC like this has been great! In the home i stream games too it via Moonlight and with wifi 6 and AV1 encoding/decoding the latency practically non existent! Outside the home being able to load up FFXIV when im on wifi has been a game changer! Offline games are of course much easier to deal with. The other day inwas at Disney world and while waiting for a show i was able to quickly check my retainers in FFXIV and send them on ventures! Loved that. Playing lying in bed, fantastic, the Z1 Extreme is wuite powerful, and Asus has been committed to improving this device which is fantastic!

Perfect On-the-Go Gaming Device
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little device for on the go playing. I was skeptical at first due to the early reviews, but the firmware that came out prior to release seems to have fixed a lot of the issues. Pros: + Great performance + Controller has good tactile feel and is responsive + Overall better grip and comfort compared to Steam Deck + Excellant picture quality with vibrant colors Cons: - Takes a little work to get controller profiles setup for some games - Windows needs work for this style of device, this is a handheld not a desktop device - Wish it came with built in 1TB storage, although you can also use Micro SD (UHS-II) cards for additional storage.

Ally kit a lot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried my friend steam deck and I thought this was way better. Smaller than the steam deck fits in the hands better and pretty manageable. I highly recommend the dock too. I'm able to hook up the TVs and monitors and all sorts of things. I believe this is using the newest AMD Ryzen extreme mobile chipset based off of the smallest 3 nanometer manufacturing technologies possibly by TSMC. This thing performs better than my 3-year-old alienware laptop. I highly recommend getting a one terabyte card because you will be playing AAA games on it and they take up a lot of space. Just like PC or Xbox or PlayStation 5. But if you're looking for it all in one solution and need a new computer it runs on full windows 11 with optimization and custom software by Asus which is very good really helps with the interface

I Returned the Legion Go for This
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a Legion Go and returned it to buy this. Main reasons I prefer this over the Legion Go/Steam Deck: Runs Windows (vs Steam Deck) 16:9 resolution (vs Legion Go) Button layout (vs Legion Go) Much lighter (vs Legion Go) The Legion go had some significant problems running some games because of the odd resolution. The screen is nicer, but that doesn't matter when it can't play the entire library. The games that did run well had control issues because of the strange button layout.

Incredible gaming handheld
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device Is amazing for the price I got it for my only complain about it, is the short battery life but it's not the biggest deal. Decent handheld
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works reasonably well, recent update seems to limit the use of the joysticks for some things. Some game compatibility isn’t ideal. I’d suggest looking around a bit on reddit or other channels for whatever games you’re intending to use it on to see how well it does or doesn’t work.
