Great handheld system. The ROG Ally is just an amazing piece of work. I am able to play pretty much all my games comfortably without any issues. Plug and play and I am good to go. Did I mention that this is a full blown PC!?! The ROG ally is a laptop that you can play games, listen to music, watch Netflix, live events, browse the web and do work if need. I believe the Ally is best used for travel away from home or if you're home without access to the console or gaming PC. Do not hesitate to buy especially to be used as a luxury secondary gaming device instead of the a primary. In my case I have a PC with an RTX 4090 and when I am out I can play anything.

If you need a gaming PC that can run every game at minimum 60 FPS plus being extremely portable then you should buy this. Incredible product that needs some firmware updates to be perfect.

Really enjoy this handheld! Of course it cant play everything out there but being able to play assassins creed shadow, space marines 2, should be enough to say how much it can handle. Definitely reccomend this for anyone wondering if its worth it

Great device for gaming, it doesn’t necessarily make gaming ‘portable’ because you will want it plugged in for the best performance and to play longer than an hour.. I use mine for a few different games Beamng drive, world of Warcraft …it works really good for most games however games like wow that aren’t fully optimized will occasionally freeze, do a black screen and resume eventually but it can be really frustrating ..addons like consoleport make it a seamless experience outside of that though..

Love this gamer. It's strong point is it's hardware and that it has windows 11. It's weak points are it's battery life and that it has windows 11. I know I know but it's true. Having windows means I can run any game in my steam library. But because it has windows means it can be a bit quirky at times. That being said the lil quirks from windows isn't enough to detract from how great this handheld is. Would absolutely recommend to any pc gamer who wants a handheld. Be prepared to have it plugged in most of the time though.

It's a very good product it just had a few minor inconveniences. One being having to configure the controller scheme on every single game, you really have to fine tune it and mess with alot of buttons just for one game so when you go to another you have to configure it all again. It does save two profiles, gamepad and desktop but it seems like you can't even switch between each or it's really finicky. But besides that it has it's **** near as powerful as my desktop w/ DL speeds of almost 1g a second so very good there and the screen looks amazing. Also the joysticks and buttons feel great and are nice to use it's only the configuring I have a problem with.

Got the rog cuz I wanted to play PC games in handheld mode. It was alright. Ran great. But the console was heavy and needed constant charging. Didn't last more than a little over an hour running on battery. Also wrists started hurting from holding it for a short period of time. Ended up returning it.

It's a great concept and the system feels really nice but if you own a gaming laptop I think it's hard to justify ownership on this thing. It played Forza motorsport really well and control ran great. FPS will be tough on it due to stick length. When it's on sale I think it'll be a great pickup for any gamer. I liked the weight and feel much better than steam deck.

I will lead with my final appraisal of this device while it was working as that feels more fair than just the bad end result of my purchase. After several hours uninstalling, updating, tweeking, learning, and then finally gaming I loved the Ally. I pulled down a consistent 90+ fps in Diablo 4 with some of the settings maxed but most low or off. No heat issues, no lag, no stutter. Ran well and is more than acceptable for a portable PC gaming experience. Marauders would always crash after a few seconds in the menus, Rocket League played well with no issues, Hell Let Loose seemed serviceable and looked fine to me with no crazy FPS dips or tearing. All in all the devoce is more than a solid portable gmaing option. At the price point and with the AMD eGPU total cost gets up to a gaming laptops. Whether a laptop is a better fit for you than this device is up to you? I wouod say that if the Ally has an inch or 2 more of screen real-estate I'd be in love. Heck its probaly not too hard to get a 3D printed mount for a ln iPad or tablet to sit ontop of the Ally and still hold the controller part behind it to game on a nicer bigger screen? Idk. Gotta return mine unfortunately. 1st impression was that I was returning the Ally because it didnt meet my expectations off the rip. Fast forward about 8 hours of hands on playing and tweeking while connected to the supplied power source in a 65° AC with the onboard fans wide open. I get an error message while playing Diablo at 1080p that says I "ran out of memory." It forces a restart and thwn my device simply never powers back on. No leds when plugged in or docked, non when not. No button combination forces a reboot or anything. Just a brick now. There are non in stock within an hour+ of me and the Best Buy I shop at is already 45 minutes away. Also the storage is lacking. The SD slot did work with no issues for me but is an outdated medium if you ask me.

      Dear RandallDSavage,

It is really unfortunate to hear that your ROG Ally will not boot anymore. That is definitely not the experience we want any of our customers to have with ASUS products and is not the type of quality to expect from ASUS. We recommend trying to return it to your place of purchase for a replacement unit. If that is not possible you can RMA your unit directly to us for assistance as well. If you’re looking for a good handheld windows based gaming application this is it. I’ve been able to run triple A titles on it with no issues at all. The support from asus and the community to get games to run well and do other functions with it is just a google search away. I was able to play Forza Motorsport sport around 50fps on low to medium for 2 hours on a plane ride. It also has micro sd slot and you can take the back off and get more m.2 storage.

Love this! My wife and I had been gaming on the Nintendo switch for about 2 years. Handhelds is our preference because it allows for us to game with our little one, and we can all sit together. Highly recommend the Rog Ally if you are interested in handheld gaming. This is miles ahead of the switch, and with windows 11 we can play many more games. I have used the Ally for projects outside of gaming, and have had no issues. LinkedIn and Microsoft office both work wonderfully. Hope this helps anyone who is questioning this purchase.
