Its a amazing product i love how fast and the fact i have windows 11 in my hands. The fact that i have all my pc games handheld is insane and the peformance is great

I brought 2 one for myself and one for my 9yr old. we both love it so far no issues. my 9 yr old wanted a gaming PC so I decided on this so he can take it on the go.

The ROG is a great start to something beautiful. If you understand how PC's and Windows 11 then you will understand the negatives that actually can be improved. I took it on a trip and time passed like I was playing at home. My only con that is really impactful for me is when the ROG is low battery it feels like a controller with no rechargeable batteries...lol

A lot of people have complaints about the ease of use of this device, but I do not. I've been looking for a handheld that runs windows and has the specs to run really good games as well as old games. I love that I can essentially replace my desktop and my laptop with this device for most of the stuff I do day to day on a desktop PC. The only con I have to this device is the design of the SDs card slot location as these cards can get hot to be in with and this device doesn't help. Cool off the SD card. It actually makes it hotter. Other than that, I love this device and I would recommend.

The Rog Ally is “A game changer” (pun intended). I can play ALL my Steam games and more on it. If i’m playing a difficult level, I can pause, go into Windows 11, and browse the web to find help! The build is high quality and the Armory Crate management software is always improving. If you are looking for long battery life, buy a Nintendo Switch. But If you want to play AAA PC games for an hour or two with the ability to fast charge or play while plugged in for longer play time, this is an amazing device to do it on!

I am using this since 3 months. This is my compact powerful computer. This has powerful processor, good RAM and graphics card. I use it for games, video editing, movie making, presentations etc. This little computer renders high graphic games withoutany issues, most of the laptops struggle to render such games. This is travel friendly. I carry it wherever i go. I connect to monitor or TV for video editing and movie making. For the price this is simply superb. I like ASUS products. This is my second ASUS product. Kudos to ASUS

Purchased the Ally to be able to play PC games in the go and while traveling for work. This device has almost the same specs as my home PC and is quick. Very quick.

The Ally is a great handheld with a remarkable screen. I own this and the SteamDeck and definitely prefer this over the SteamDeck. If I were to rate this product when I first purchased it I would have likely rated it 4 stars due to some of its limitations (specifically inability to charge at full capacity unless you used the provided Asus charger), but Asus has done a really good job with providing regular software updates and continues to make positive, iterative quality of life improvements on the device. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested!

Bought this for my son after he and I saw the prices for the Switch 2. He's been getting more into steam games and purchases most of the games he has himself. Seeing the prices of the Switch 2 games, he immediately wanted something like this instead. He's constantly using it everywhere and has setup his desk so he can use it with a keyboard and mouse hooked up to occasionally to even play League of Legends on it. He's had no complaints about it and we plan on installing Bazite OS so we can dual boot Windows along with it for a smoother experience for him. Worth the price for sure with how much joy he has and how much more he's outside his room with it and spending time with the family.

Love it! Plays everything i want and i can take it anywhere. Battery is okay, i get about an hour or so of straight play time.

This is the best gaming habdgeld ive ever owner i would advise you swap the ssd to a bigger and not use a sd card for aaa games. Other than that five stars.

Got this device on sale to be able to connect to my television and play PC games. So far the performance available in such a small package has exceeded my expectations with games both looking better and playing smoother than anticipated.

I purchased an open box ROG Ally that has been considered good condition on the grounds that I will have a companion device that serve both my gaming and music production. I came knowing that there are issues with the SD card reader and the UI with Windows not being the best OS for a smooth gaming experience. From this… oh boy, did I fully underestimate the issues with this device and my overall customer satisfaction. What I did not expect is me trying to get this device repaired not a month after I owned for a potential battery or processor issue after power reset errors from gaming plugged in at 30W mode. What I did not expect is how this happened just outside of the 14 day return window. As I wait for potentially a month for this repair, I reflect on the issues folks have been getting and I am baffled by 1) ASUS quality control being lackluster and 2) Best Buy having the audacity to apply a 14-day return window for a device THEY know has a lot of issues. I honestly don’t know what could make this right, but I definitely don’t feel good with ASUS or Best Buy. ASUS for its history of being unreliable company when it comes to customer support and service. Best Buy by sticking to their guns with a hard return policy for a product with quality issues. I am not happy with this product from an experience standpoint. Get a steam deck or a Lenovo go instead. If buying PC components or a laptop, avoid ASUS.

I do like the device I have no complaints other than the battery life but that's why they have battery packs

The title is brutal but the review is honest. As someone who has reviewed IT over the past 30 years and a huge ASUS Rog fan, I expected a lot from this unit. Full disclosure, I have a Steam Deck (SD). The weight of Ally is good, lighter than SD, and more comfortable to hold for long lengths of time. The screen is bright and is also a touchscreen. Buttons are good and are laid out similar to SD without the trackpads. Where this unit falls short is the Windows 11 OS. ASUS should have reached out to Valve to license the SteamOS for this unit. Putting Steam in Big Picture mode does provide a similar navigation effect to the SD but for some reason, Windows 11 wants to display the taskbar at the bottom no matter what. Of course, I can auto-hide the taskbar (but you shouldn't have to.) For Microsoft this is a huge missed opportunity to break into a portable gaming unit for the XBOX. xCloud or XBOX Pass should have been an automatic start and overlay for this unit. The main purpose for Ally is for gaming so while having a full desktop OS is nice, it should have been buried like SteamOS is currently set on SD. Conclusion: If you want an SD, this is not going to work for you. If you want a portable gaming system based on the latest Ryzen Tech, this will work but understand the limitations of Windows 11 on this small device. I cannot recommend this to beginners or novice users.

I was just amazed by how well the graphics were executed when they came together and it made me feel so much better about giving it to my family for Christmas. I was disappointed that the free monthly Xbox game card didn’t work for me and I was not able to use it in other platforms
