Storage is VERY limited and expanding it is almost as much ss the unit itself. Runs Very Hot too if sitting in lap. Returned. Good idea. Not readt yet.

Plays most of my library with ease, and has a lot of customizable options to work and tinker your games to what you want. Keep expectations in check though: This thing has a 120Hz refresh rate, but not every game will run at 120Hz max settings. It's a portable after all, don't expect monster level PC levels of performance here.
I would recommend this to a friend better than steam deck!

I tend to lean more towards portable gaming and the Ally gets me everything from Steam, to Windows, to Xbox, and then some. Add a small dock and you basically have a more versatile Switch. I highly recommend the ROG Ally.

I use this constantly, and everything works out of the box without having to do anything crazy in the settings or to the device to make it decent.

I work 40 hrs per week and gaming is one of my hobbies, I have the Steam Deck and has been very good and I was very interested on the ALLY to see the differences between the two handhelds. The easy interface and easy to use trophy goes to the Steam Deck but the versatility of the ALLY makes it very tempting. However, I was able just to play a couple of games on the ALLY and due work and family the TWO WEEKS that Best Buy gives you to return items made my choice clear: not enough time to spend with the ALLY made me weary of its use and rather stick with the SD. However, if you don't have the SD, just pick the ally, is very good. I am afraid that the return policies that BB has ( if you are not taking the paywall to return items in 30 days) is going to put pressure on the buyers to get an item that unfortunately needs more than 14 days to make a decision. Sucks for ROG because I really like their products and the laptop that I am still using is a ROG.

Does it give you 4k 60 FPS Untra settings on every game? No! Does it give you 1080p great framerates and good-great settings? ABSOLUTELY! THIS THING ROCKS!! I plopped in a 2TB m.2 NVME drive and have every game i could want on it! SERIOUSLY, this thing is awesome!! Buy it, you will not be dissapointed!!!!

Feels great in the hands, buttons feel substantial and the touch screen was nice and responsive. Ran games super great at max settings for the device, and having the option for all the various launchers AND Gamepass is a huge plus. I just couldn’t reconcile with the battery life and the necessity to buy external battery power to carry around with it and be tethered to. Battery life at max settings is around 90 minutes, so if youre truly being mobile and playing on a road trip/flight, be prepared to have an outlet nearby to be tethered to. Fantastic device but I just don’t think batteries are where they need to be for the experience this device is capable of providing.

Overall a worth it buy if you would like a customizable experience.

Havent had a single issue with any game ive tried to run on it. I can even install my remote play and ps+ apps to play games from my ps5/ps+ subscription. Having a full Windows OS opens up much more possibilities than the Steamdeck. 10/10 purchase!
