I've been using this device for a few months now and absolutely love it. It is more powerful than my desktop gaming computer in many ways. One of which is that it runs Starfield perfectly while my desktop cant! It takes some getting used to but now it has become an everyday carry item.

The hand held is pretty good but the only problem I have with it is the battery life. The battery depending on the game would as about 1 hour at best. If going to travel with this you need a good power bank.

I found the Ally a little more difficult to set-up being that it runs the whole windows operating system. Which does have its benefits in the long run, this allows for more game launcher programs and the ability to run more games than the Steam Deck. My only complaint is how quickly the battery can be drained.

More performance for less battery id take any day!

Awesome handheld gaming console…never leave home without it

Great gaming handheld PC. Still some bugs that are being worked out but the device plays games well. Windows 11 works as expected, when docked, external display output is good quality. Upgraded to 2TB SSD, that process was quite easy as well.

Dont bother with the steam deck. Just pick up an Ally. Since recieving my ally, i havent played the steam deck at all. The rog simply outclasses the steam deck. Playing games natively works well but streaming is where its at. Using moonlight/steam streaming at 120fps is absolutely glorious for couch sessions.

I love the asus Ally to death. It does have a SD issue on some units but ignoring that its the best handheld ive ever seen or used!! Also best buy has done a wonderful job handling the issues with SD. So its best to only buy it at bestbuy as they are handling each customer with care.

Plays every AAA game very well. Best of all, you can lower the resolution (since the display is so small) or enable FSR and you can't even tell really unless you are looking closely. Boots up in seconds and can load into a game within a minute or two from booting up.

I bought it for my brother so honestly I dont have a ton of experience with the all. I do have a steam deck though, which is much more user friendly in my little experience.

If I were to consider buying a hand held console today, I would think again about buying this one. The set up on games can be clunky, not all games work with it, and battery life is OK not great. It is practical to just have around but not sure it was worth it. Asus is great with support if needed but it’s also kind of niche so can be hard to find certain instructions, especially when it comes to set up for games.

While I loved my Steam Deck there were just some games it couldn't run very well or at all. But the ROG Ally has been able to take everything I threw at it at 1080p with at least a very playable 30fps. Overall great purchase that I would recommend to anyone who wishes there Steam Deck had a little extra power.

Pc gaming on the go! Best bang for your buck! Highly recommend for someone that travels and games! You won’t be disappointed!

So I bought this to take with me when I travel. The stats look good for several games I play. Diablo II plays great! Diablo III doesn't support controller play so I haven't loaded it. Diablo IV should be supported but even on low graphics model the system is very laggy and in most cases not playable. Over all it is ok, and I'll use it for some games like D2 and maybe hearthstone. May try some other xbox games but the performance just wasn't what is should be capable of with the spec's. Too bad as it had great possibilities according to the specs. Other issue is battery life. Lucky to get an hour, but it does a good job not getting hot so that was a plus!

For those looking for a cheaper alternative to PCVR! This would be the perfect device: gamea like VRchat can range from 56-64fps ( low settings). Grim Lord VR: 37-48fps ( high settings) SkyrimVr (64 fps) low settinbs. I mainly play VR this way because it's convient for me. Its worth cbecking out

Good handheld system reall no complaints. If you are running some of the more intense games it does get a little glitchy but with a handheld thats kinda expected. Would buy again. So far ive played jedi survivor, need for speed and madden all ran excellent.

Love to use this while traveling or just gaming in bed. Took some time getting used to some controls but is fun.

Impressive device for the money. Don’t get me wrong you can get a lot more function out of a pc at this price point but as far as handhelds go this thing is very powerful. The reason I can’t give it 5 stars is QC. I’ve had fan wine and more recently my SD card slot has fried (as most people with these units have experienced). I’m hoping to return this unit under the manufacturers warranty and purchase something else. If you have money to blow and don’t care about those issues it’s a great unit. However I’m going to be searching for something with more longevity even at the cost of performance.

This thing is a beast when your playing a game at 120 frames, 1080p display, medium to high settings, it the mobile market this is unmatched. I for one did not mind the windows 11 bc armored crate works good. The biggest problem is that you can only play for 30-40 minutes while using the power the rog ally provides. Sure you can be plugged in but then might as well play your pc or console instead and if i have to drop the settings fown i preffer to play my steamdeck which configures stuff for you and 100% feels like a mobile console.
