Runs better then my ps4 most of the time, works better with my lg monitor i have that 144hz 1ms just waiting to get a hdmi hub to he able to do duel monitor setup

Will be upgrading the ssd soon because the sd card is known to be problematic.

The full windows experience on this thing is so mid, and controls are non responsive at times and having to jugle between Asus UI and Steam Deck UI is such a pain and performance was mid as well. For the price get a steam deck its way better and more optimize

Surely, the ROG Ally is snappy and works properly with Windows 11. In order to improve system stability and performance, please check if the device is running BIOS version 319. Also, verify if Windows and drivers are up to date.

Great concept - couldn't activate Windows 11

That said, if you're aware of the limitations and issues, this has the potential to be a great handheld gaming device. Maybe not at the MSRP now that a newer generation of the device has been released. I was well aware of the SD card issues (something that isn't a problem for my use), and I was looking forward to enjoying the device. That said, when I went to factory reset Windows 11, I found myself unable to activate Windows. Turns out, after much troubleshooting, the OEM embedded license was for Windows 8, which will no longer activate a "new" install of Windows 11. My options were to either purchase a retail license of Windows 11, run a gimped OS on a brand new device, or go Linux. I chose to return the ROG Ally and go with a different product which has been nearly flawless.
