I compared this to the steam deck and landed on this just for the compatibility aspect. I snagged an open box for a significant discount. Purchased "online" while I was in the store. Walked over to the counter and picked it up. Happy over all.

Using with dock as desktop

The iGPU is good enough for me and I can use it as a handheld for steam and xbox/game pass. I use playstation remote play too.

Wait for the X or get it for cheaper

Now that the Ally X is releasing in July. If you can get this on sale or used for cheaper I would go with the X.

He likes it faster than his computer still trying to understand some stuff but overall ok. Some games he can’t play but otherwise he’s able to play what he wants
