Great system but horrible experience with the store literally sold me a returned one that wasn’t even in the box it was wood in the box with the plastic wrap sealed I literally had to argue with management because they try to say I was the one doing the funny stuff

The machine itself was good but with the SD card issues and it being discovered outside of the 90 days i was really upset.

This has replaced my all my consoles and handhelds.

Opening: Box design is compact and inserts make for a form-fitting puzzle of protection. Plastic wrap around device is odd and weird to remove. Watch for it getting stuck on thumb sticks when attempting to remove. Design: Symmetric mostly rectangular shape. Macro buttons on back where fingers naturally rest. Thumb sticks and buttons/d-pad ergonomically placed. Power button/fingerprint in odd location. White device color terrible choice. Touchscreen but lack of stylus device. Device has a decent weight to it; not too heavy that it’ll cause strain or fatigue, not too light that it feels flimsy. General ergonomics decent but not great for those with hand issues like arthritis or carpal tunnel for longer sessions. Initial startup: Slow startup, couple minutes to get to be able to start setting up. Updates automatically, blocks you from being able to choose updates, which was required for startup. Initial setup took hours to complete, and trying to follow the update doc sent along with the device didn’t work properly as the device kept choosing its own updates to make and when to make them. The device calls itself a handheld computer, but doesn’t want to give you the manual control a computer does. Usage: Battery life isn’t spectacular; roughly 2 hours of play time, so maybe it’ll work for a road trip to grandma’s, but it would run out in the terminal before even getting on a plane. Power brick gets hot to the touch if gaming while charging. Device does not default to game pad mode, which it really should as a handheld gaming device. Device goes to sleep in the middle of cutscenes; when something is running it should know to override standard power settings. No screen stutter or freeze when a lot is happening; a lot of power and stability for a handheld running heavy games. Colors, sounds, and motion are smooth and crisp, very high definition. Very generous amount of memory for a handheld device. Has more RAM than many standard computers/laptops. Decent customization options for the LEDs under the joysticks. Overall: Despite its flaws, it’s still very good for on-the-go and/or relaxed gaming. As essentially a computer, also functions well for video streaming. Device also has options for docking station and external monitor usage, but as these peripherals were not provided, those functions are not included in this review. Integration of Steam, Game Pass, etc. mean you can take some time away from your desk or home and still keep up to date on your gaming, especially those that save progress server side.
