Good not Great

One thing I’ve noteced about the ally is it struggles to preform as a desktop with windows. I know it’s a gaming handheld but i want to use it as a desktop and that means like a dock. It can handle lighter loads but nothing too complicated. However i wish that the external egpu was cheaper that would change this review by quite a bit. The quality is ok the plastic could feel better but it’s a good handheld. One of my biggest worries for this guy is that i can’t see myself using it in an airplane which is why i bought it.

I had it day one

It's good

You can actually replace your desktop pc with this if you dock it. Handles games very well, but will require some know-how to get the best results. I'd only recommend this to enthusiasts who are willing to know the ins and outs of the device.

Great… But Flawed

And while it is a bit more powerful than the Steam Deck, I took that over the Ally because it kept crashing and even blue screened 4 times over the period of time I had it. I didn’t even run graphically intensive games on it, but it kind of crippled itself under the weight. If you know the risks of a windows platform and are serious about getting into portable PC play, I think this would be a great choice, but if you are new to things and need to learn a thing or two, take a Steam Deck, which also has cheaper skus.

Greatest yet smallest PC *imo

It's the best I've ever seen although I prefer using a regular controller with it....I have yet to do so. More people should by this product. I'm not sure if there is anything like this on the market 120fps and run full windows 11.

I have a mobile gaming setup whenever I need it. It's super easy to control. I have modded mine with low profile M buttons, which is freaking amazing. It is a COMPUTER. if you're looking for a console, this ain't it chief.

I can take my Ryzen GPU turn it into a NVIDIA GPU. I love the aesthetics and feel of the service in my hands. The spiffs was a bit wonky when they didn't am update, but now it is awesome to play.

Speaker issues

Very nice hardware that shouldn't have problems like that out of the box. If Asus put some effort into preventing simple issues like this, they would have a home run product. I know that there are some possible fixes that worked for others, but none worked for me. Gaming experience was good, but you can't play around other people when the speakers are making the loudest possible static noises constantly. I'll be waiting (im)patiently for the second gen model.

But when it was working it has a good performance for a handheld, the design is very nice and ergonomic.

I’ll stay with console gaming

Trigger went out first day

And takes long to download games since it’s only wifi. I will be returning it as the trigger isn’t working and also some files keep on having to be updated. When they improve this I’m sure it’ll be a great device
