I bought the extreme model open box (happened to be one of the models used as a store display). Out of the box, the SD card was finicky, sometimes not working, slowing down the system, and sometimes just corrupting my SD card. After having it for about a month, the software used for the controller started to go out. The system would constantly register the device moving right. I know it’s not a physical problem because testing the stick in the calibration software shows it working. The control panel used for lots of the features also doesn’t show up half of the time. So atm this thing feels like a $500 paperweight. Only 14 days to return an open box item is crazy, especially when it’s ridden with problems. Im gonna try to plead my case and maybe I can get something worked out. I barely even used the thing in the month, maybe like 20 hours of actual use. Most of the time was spent actually troubleshooting the thing. Im just hoping for my money back.

This thing is really cool. Game pad mode interface is super smooth and getting to my chrome tabs and watching YouTube or Netflix is also super easy. Feels better than a switch in my opinion while also functioning as an entire PC.

the rog ally is an amazing product and it can be also be used as a gaming pc if you connect it to a monitor using a docking station. 10/10

I bought this product for my son who is joining the military and would benefit from mobile gaming. He frequently uses his Steam account and this product seemed like a no-brainer. As impressive as the product is, it hasn't major flaws. The ability to have a mobile Windows 11 device that can play from any Steam, Epic, Xbox account is amazing. The problem is getting the Ally to work consistently. Installing apps and games are simple and operate as simple as doing so on a PC. There is an additional app with physical shortcut buttons called Armoury Crate. This is where we ran into issues. After only 3 months the buttons stopped functioning and armoury crate could not be accessed (the app is critical to make any changes while gaming). After multiple window's resets, restore points, cloud recovery, biostatistics updates and driver updates, the armoury crate problem persisted. ASUS support forums indicate that this problem is potentially widespread, and a lot of owners have had to RMA the device. I wanted my son to love this device and he did, until it broke after 3 months. If I could get my money back instead of repair I would.

Not gonna lie...this is everything I've ever wanted in a handheld gaming device...the ui could use some work but it feels good to play

I bought the ROG Ally on an open box special. The handheld gaming device was in like new condition. It looks to be an awesome device even now but with the frequent patches provided by ASUS and the other vendors it keeps getting better.

I was initially excited to try this out. The power is there and looks great on paper. It’s a buggy mess, however, and it seems like I ran into a new problem each day. One day, games would run great and then just not run at all the next. I felt like I was troubleshooting more than I was playing games. I’ll definitely stick with a Steam Deck.

Was smooth and easy and was delivered very fast and included everything even though it was used

Fast and great quality, Super comfort and what I think great is that all the heating is a the top so doesn't bother me at all, my only concern was the windows as OS, personally i Don't like getting through windows to run my games

I love my Rog. I use it almost every night. I'm currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on it, via xbox streaming. I updated the storage right out of the box.

I tried, i tried, i tried.. this device does not make any sense. Its targeted audience is super niche. Can you use it as a laptop, no. Can you use it as a gaming device, no not really. If you want emulation or streaming just get a cellphone and afd emulator or roms to it. This device does not know what it is or who it's for. 5 stars for best buy and 1 for Asus. Making an unappealing product for the non intended masses

I've had the ROG Ally since about the time it launched. Windows on this device, and any handheld device, is a complete dumpster fire. Battery life is also very, very poor, even compared to the LCD Steam Deck and the Legion Go. Honestly, if you're in the market for a handheld that can play PC games, get the 1TB OLED Steam Deck for about the same price. It has a better screen color and way better battery life—like a completely different planet. If you're looking into the Ally for the XG Mobile and you don't already have one, build or buy a desktop or a good gaming laptop. The only XG Mobile they sell is the 4090 for $2,000, which is insane. I have a 4090 in my main rig, and I still didn't even pay that. A desktop 4090 will blow that E-waste out of the water. TLDR: Skip the Ally and get a Deck for handheld PC gaming. Also my left joy stick has been grinding away on the rgb ring that surrounds it very poor design.

Best way to play COD on the go! I have COD on everything, xbox,pc and playstation. I have played my Rog Ally more than all other platforms since i bought. I had some reservations about the screen size but not a deal breaker!

Good for cloud gaming. Battery doesn't last long at all. Played GTA 5 rockstar pc version and was very laggy. Returned.

Nice laptop. Not sure if i need another one... Will get outdated quick. Steam deck is a bit more user friendly, but its weaker. Controller optimization and amd drivers are so so. Overall buy if u dont jave a laptop or even desktop.

I love it so far except trying to play warzone I'm getting a directx 12 error with no real help in resolving except to uninstall and install directx 11
