    So far so good, it’s a product that’s still on its infancy. It may look like a console but it’s actually a portable computer. If you understand windows you should be right at home.

    Maybe the Ally 2 will be better

    While i'm enjoying the Ally (when it works), so much needs to be done. Its not difficult to tell if its the ASUS software causing the issues or Windows 11. Its definitely Windows 11. Going to have to return this thing. Stability is wonky.

    Not Ready for Prime Tiime

    The ROG Ally is only for a certain type of gamer. If you're buying this expecting your games to play as soon as you install them, you're going to be disappointed. Be prepared to spend a great deal of time setting up just about each and every game you install. Games that don't require tinkering on the Steam Deck will need to be "dialed in" before they work on the Ally. The hardware in the Ally package seems to be pretty good, but Windows just isn't designed with gaming handhelds in mind which made for a very frustrating experience. IF you don't mind playing with settings constantly, and putting up with a laggy mess of an OS (Windows 11) then the ROG Ally may be worth your time. But if you just want to play games you may want to check out other handheld options.

Please know that with how PC gaming is, there are a few settings that need to be checked as every game has different ways of working with different types of controllers. If you're using Steam, you can try running Big Picture mode and making sure you've enabled the controller support.     If you always want a steam deck. This is the chance to get one a little more powerful, it came with OS windows so you can say to your parents thats also will help you with school.

    Being a Steamdeck owner the Ally in comparison is far easier to use, generally a better experience and the game library is so much bigger the the Steamdeck and no real issues.

    This thing is like a mini computer! Its such a beast. The sides are so comfortable to hold. Easy to set up and use. I cant get ebough of it.

    I had to send it out for repair i think they should have taken a bit longer to make it for context it shutdown on me and would not charge i would have giving it a 4 if it did not do what i said above

    Easy to use and setup out the box. If you plan on upgrading the memory should try to get that done before already setting up the console. Great console!

    Lots of potential, yet a ton of drawbacks

    This device is extremely awesome in theory, but there are a ton of drawbacks that took us a long while to set it up. We didn't look into the reviews before purchasing it and we kinda rushed into getting it as my husband needed to go on a work trip. I still wanted my husband to have some type of portable device he could use on his travel, but the entire set up is not user friendly at all. The instructions are very confusing as well that explain how to set it up. We're very thankful it works now (we followed an instructional video on youtube), but there seem to be issues many people run across when it comes to the memory disk which means we probably won't get a memory disk for this device ever. Half a star for it working, another half a star for the beautiful eye catching design of the device.

      If you already have the latest BIOS version installed and you are still experiencing the issue please provide us with the following information:
      1. SD card brand and model
      2. SD card capacity
      3. SD card is first-time use?
      4. SD card work on other devices after failing on the Ally?
      5. Thermal profile usually used > Silent / performance/turbo/manual
      If manual, please provide us with the fan curve.
      6. How much storage capacity has been used on the SD card
