    The device was defective and this seems to be the case with many of the Initial rog ally units. I returned and purchased a new unit and had no issues !

    You need to know about computers need to do updates on windows and armory crate this is not a turn on and play handheld console you need to know good about pcs

    Not worth the frustration, so not worth the money

    I own a few handhelds the onexplayer intel and ryzen (ryzen is the best), switch and steamdeck. This experience has been very frustrating. I call asus and was only told to reset device ( after 3 resets) I’m done. I really wanted to like this but after one day i realize the steamdeck caused no frustration pick it up and play. If you own a steamdeck rog ally is useless. Steamdeck and switch (until window has its own operating system for handhelds) is far the best system. Rog ally is going back one day after purchase.

    Wonderful item, however a problem has already already occurred which prevents the unit from charging. RMA'd it to Asus, who knows when I'll get it back.

    Not sure about the people that say its comfy in the hand. They must have small ones. It was not very comfortable after about 20mins. Now to get to your games, you better be familiar with a PC because thats how you will have to work this. Adjust settings to get it to work etc. Not like the Steam Deck. Now, for a first gen, good effort but needs alot more refinement to be worth the price tag.

With how PC gaming is, you would need to adjust your in-game settings to ensure each games will work with the gamepad. If you're using steam, I would recommend using the Big Picture mode and to enable controller support. With these set make sure you're using Gamepad mode.     Stopped working

    It worked for about 5 hours. After spending 2 days updating everything and downloading games, I played 2+ hours on different days then it died. Power button did not work (google it), did not charge, no lights or buttons worked, and could not hard reset. It turned into a brick. Luckily I was able to return to BB within my window.

    Ok but button stopped working

    Everything was smooth but recently the X button broke. Sitting at Best Buy for repair. Hopefully all goes well. Other than that, kid liked it a lot.

    The unit had all kinds of problems. Frequent crashes. Steam had issues just booting up and running my games. Glitches were everywhere. Trying to set it up and the keyboard wouldn’t come on. It wouldn’t turn off it would freeze when shutting down. Didn’t read my sd card and the fingerprint scanner never worked. Stay away from this device until the bugs are worked out returned right day 1.

    Left Joystick doesn't work going left or right.

    The left joystick only goes up or down regardless of the software or game used. It shouldn't be that difficult just to get some games running. FYI, I build my own computers and know how to install Windows from scratch. My Steam Deck never had these issues.

    Not the smoothest

    While its a 800 pc in your hands ,the auto detect for controller to keyboard is a pain to work out ,yeah it has a option on the sode to swap the modes Manual but the steam deck does it way more flawless than this ,,,the rbg lights do eat a good amount of battery while trying to play anything and the console does not support Google play games at alll ,youd have to install a third party app to make it work and there is no guarantee that itll work properly

    The hardware is good on paper, but doesnt always meet expectations. Framerates can be really inconsistent in games like god of war. Probably due to the limited amount of RAM. The Asus software and integration with Windows needs a lot of work. Prepare for long updates, random crashes on some games, and other issues. Save your money for version 2, this needs time to bake.

    For a few hundred more you could get a laptop with a 3070ti card in it, and play things in ultra, instead of the absolutely lowest settings ever.

    Crash crash and analog trouble

    I love this device of what it’s capable to do but so many crashes is making it look bad. Woke one day after launch and the analog ( left) stop working

    Pretty significant QC issues with my unit

    I want to like this device but it has been one issue after another after the initial boot up. The biggest headache has been with the dpad/joysticks. For some reason it has been pulling left and it makes it impossible to navigate menus or play games. I’m hoping this is a quick software update to resolve but I’ve updated several items already with no resolution. Giant disappointment so far especially since I sold my Steamdeck for this.
