SD Card Slot non working.

Requires a larger NVME to really take advantage of the machine. I could RMA, but it appears those are taking quite some time, and you just a a pre owned machine back, no guarantees the slot in the "new" machine works long.

I/O Nightmare

The issue is the thumbsticks not registering input in the left or right direction, but will work fine up/down. This is not a calibration or wear and tear problem that stems from use or drops. I have had several Asus ROG products and have not had the same level of problems with them.

Plagued with bugs and a broken microSD.

It crashes several times for no reason. I get a blue screen at least every 30 minutes... Add to that a fried 1tb Micro SD!!! I won't recommend this to anyone, go and get an steam deck .

Beautiful disappointment

So why am I now waiting for a steam deck with a melted SD card reader? Buyer beware, this is not an out of box experience and there are so many issues with this device. If you are not experienced with PCs, are squeamish about tinkering, or just want an out of box experience skip this and grab a switch or a steam deck.

Updates galore… from multiple places.. armory crate, gamepass, amd, and myasus.. force restart… gets stuck on lock screen… reboot… get back in… more updates… play some games but find some of the buttons to be non responsive on gamepass. Then i go to play a new game… where is it? Doesnt load… try another… doesnt load… reboot… wont get past the logo… Day 3? I see a return in my future! ASUS QC is terrible!

1. Plug in the official ROG bundled charger to ensure a power source.
2. Ensure that both the charger and the device are properly connected and receiving power.
3. Wait for a few seconds to allow the device to receive power.
4. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
5. Release the power button and press it once to power the device on.

Broken device

When I went to go pick it up it was covered in dirty and what I think was grease? I took it home and turned it on and the left joystick was broken. There was not left or right response.

If you play NEW AAA games dont buy this.

Get a Steam deck instead

We certainly understand your disappointment and the inconvenience this may have caused if this device stop charging or will not power on after 70 days of usage. ASUS is an ISO certified company, as a result, all products go into a strict quality manufacturing standard. All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections that ensure each one is trouble-free, and are built to last. If this device will not charge, power on or boot up, do the following. Try to do a power cycle by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely, then power on. If the problem persists, try to do a power cycle by pressing and holding down the power button to shut it down completely, then power on. If it powers on but stays on black screen after at least 10 minutes, repeat the power cycle process again. Additionally, try to disconnect the power cable and let the unit drain for 24 hours to clear the memory. This will reset the hardware to default settings. After doing this, please reconnect your AC adapter, do not power on the device until the battery is charged. If these steps were performed to no avail, we recommend you send the product in for service to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. An RMA number is required to send it in for service. For RMA details, please go to: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/818/. Problems

I had to enable my sd card off my task manager and format it manually. Then I downloaded my games . Came back to play games they crashed (w all the updated done) SD card disabled itself again so i needed to do it all over again… (Elden ring ran fine and looked beautiful) Just a freakin headache.

If you have been using your ROG ALLY then suddenly the SD card cannot be detected after using a period of time, Please provide us with the following information:
If this unit was purchased from US Best Buy and the issue is persistent we would recommend returning to us so we can resolve the issue.
1. SD card brand and model
2. SD card capacity
3. SD card is first time use?
4. SD card worked on other devices after failing on the Ally?
5. Thermal profile usually used > Silent / performance / turbo / manual
If manual, please provide us with the fan curve.
6. How much storage capacity has been used on the SD card

The system stop charging money wasted.

This is my first time using this particular system, my recommendation don’t buy this system same few more money and buy a gaming laptop is better option because this system don’t support playing and charging because I never dropped the system or something I always take care of my computer. Also I try diferente charger and I used into my Nintendo switch and works perfectly but in the Asus Rog Ally doesn’t work. As I said before is better save more money and buy a gaming laptop because otherwise it's going to happen like me now I have to save money to buy a new gaming computer. I have the first Nintendo switch and I never had a problem with the console it’s not the same but this Asus are not efficient.

Mediocre handheld for a high price

My 1st Ally had a broken L1 and a pretty bad right analog stick. My 2nd Ally had a lot of software glitches and another popr right analog stick. All the buttons feel very cheap. The Ally is not overly comfortable to hold. Saying all its probably the best windows handheld you can buy, but thats not saying much. If you have a steam deck Id just stay with that.
