What a hot mess!

Wemod will not run on the device. The UI for the handheld device is a buggy disaster. It feels cheap, especially compared to the Steam Deck. I returned it and was told that I was the second customer returning it for a refund that morning.

Best Buy Needs Longer Return Policy.

I bought this as a gift, and it took 16 days before it was opened, updated, etc. one of the joy sticks does not work, but it was past the 15 day for returns, so now stuck with a briken device.

Clicky joysticks

$700 paper weight

Recieved today and started up. Set everything up and while downloading a game from steam, crashed. After the crash would only boot to the bios which has deleted all windows products. After spending nearly $100 on a usb, type c to type A and a AC adapter still no luck. Would even boot anymore at this point. At a loss for words.

Overall I'm really liking the Rog ally
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all I wanna begin with saying don't buy this for your kid unless he is a tech nerd and knows the ins and outs of a PC. Also don't buy this for yourself if you don't like tinkering.This is a PC not a console. You don't just plug it in and play it. Set up for me was a little janky but after it was all set up and did all the updates it was fine. I have always been a console gamer but I have always wanted to try PC so I pulled the trigger on the ally. The hardware is beautiful in my opinion. It has a very nice screen , buttons feel good to me and the speakers are unbelievable for this size of a device. It's not perfect I think it still needs some software refining but this thing plays games very well in my opinion. I bought street fighter 6 and resident evil 4 for it and they both run excellent after messing with settings a little bit. I would say it's pretty close to a series s in a handheld. The series s might be a little more powerful just by my experience with both of them. My only real gripe with this is navigating in dock mode is a nightmare. Don't expect it to be like a Nintendo switch. It's a mess and needs work. I have it pretty well figured out now but it took me some YouTube videos to figure it out and it's still buggy. It's just not a seamless experience at all. Hopefully they make it a little more user friendly in the future. One more negative is the battery is pretty bad , like a hour and a half with a more demanding game. I'm fine with it though because I realize what kind of power it has. It's pretty impressive honestly. Overall this is a beast of a handheld just realize before you buy it's not perfect and it takes some work on your end to get things running properly.

Hard Reset
1. Remove all external devices such as the AC adapter, USB devices, etc.
2. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds.
3. Reconnect the AC adapter.
4. Turn on the power of the device.

DO NOT USE BB FOR REPAIR!

Unit came back with a dent on the lower left side and grease all over the back, disgusting. When questioned the condition of the unit with click response was -- that is just cosmetic and does not impact the performance; therefore, we cannot do anything about it.
