Great device for on the go gaming. Packs a massive punch. Battery life could be a bit better, honestly not on par with laptops, if you're trying to game on a flight.

Set up was a breeze and it is amazing to have access to any and all games on the go with a dedicated system. The battery is its only downside as the power consumption is quite high depending on the game, but for the price between the Ally X and this, the battery size is perfect.

Bought this with the legion go and steam deck oled and what I saw in this is: its age in which a lot of people had guides and recommendations for this already It’s a windows os And how clean it looked What set me off from this a bit was probably just storage and the smaller screen but it’s veryyyy portable friendly and performs greatttt. I play OW2 and MW3 a lot and those games work perfectly fine if you have guides to help ya set the settings

This is pretty much the smallest PC as a hand-held but not your average gaming Console. The positive side for running Windows is the ability to play your PC Windows based games on the go, even more of a plus when getting the ROG Ally is the 3 months free of Microsoft Ultimate GamePass. The Ultimate GamePass lets you play a library of free PC games. This really allows me to try games before deciding to purchase certain game titles later on. After the 3 months, you will have to subscribe monthly to keep using the Ultimate GamePass and continue playing those GamePass PC games. But there are other game platforms on the ROG Ally to get free games and does not require subscription. Such as Steam, Epic Games, Origin; the list goes on. A search online will set you on your way how to get almost any game to play on the ROG Ally. But just because the ROG Ally can play almost any game, it doesn’t mean you should. Remember this is a little Gaming PC that can, but not all games will run smoothly or have a smooth experience; for an example, it is possible to run VR games on the ROG Ally and Wirelessly connect to the VR headset, but doesn’t mean you should. So be prepared to surf on the internet how to really take advantage of what the ROG Ally can do for you. Initially anyone getting the ROG ally for the first time, it is vital to update Windows/Armory Crate/and run ASUS’ software. Look up on the internet on how to keep the ROG Ally Updated and what to do to better the performance. There are a few things the ROG Ally needs to do before playing your games. The 512GB internal storage will run out when you accumulate a library of games. Upgrading the M.2 SSD to 1TB or 2TB is worth it and the process is easy. But be prepared to spend an extra $100 to $250 when shopping for a new m.2 NVMe SSD 2230 drive. The battery life on the ROG Ally is not ideal for long gaming sessions. So keep your charger close. The cable of the charger for the ROG Ally is a good length. I like the ROG Ally for Casual Gaming around the house. I enjoy Quick online multiplayer sessions. The screen is beautiful. The speakers are amazing. When the ROG Ally is Connected to a TV with a keyboard and mouse, you have your full PC setup.

First this device is not for me the average Joe. You need to realize this is a computer just in handheld form. For this device to work properly you need to get all the updates, including the bios updates. This device has a lot of customization to mess around with. At first my rog keep freezing up but once I downloaded the updates and tuned things to my liking it is great. The biggest downfall is the battery life it last about 1 and a half hours unplugged.

I bought a Used ALLY and it ended up breaking on me, But when it was still useable it was a very enjoyable experience. The screen is very nice and the useability and mending ability to activate whatever settings you want was really nice.

Works well, playing Diablo 4 smoothly, very occasional lag. It runs windows, so you are able to install and run anything that you can on a normal PC. The only complaint I have is the default fan curve. If you run it with the default fan settings, the upper left and right of the touchscreen gets HOT! I set a manual curve, and the temps are much better. However it is definitely noisier with the fans adjusted. But the speakers do a good job drowning out the fan whine at a normal volume. Great product, just be aware of that one issue.

Pre-ordered and received on launch day. So far this thing has been incredible, and as someone who held off on buying a Steam Deck, I am glad I waited. This thing has no limits to what it can play, unlike the Steam Deck, and is about 2.5x stronger in general than the Deck. The 120hz VRR, 1080p display, dual fans, and dramatically smaller and lighter frame, make this a clear winner over the Deck in every way. The complaints about ergonomics are just weird, as this thing is very comfortable and easy to hold. The Ally can literally replace every electronics device you own, aside from your phone, and it does it very well. Highly recommend, especially if you don't already own a Steam Deck.

Fantastic gaming console if you want a handheld that can play most of latest games. Having native windows makes it a lot better since I’ve used windows all my life. I got open box excellent and have no complaints. Everything was there and it was all packaged nicely.

Absolutely love this thing, have not put it down since I got it. Open box from Best buy was a great deal and everything worked perfect. The ally in my opinion is the best pick up and play device out of all of them. Everything just works, and it plays everything even current gen aaa games. My only complaint is battery life. You're absolutely not getting more than 2 hrs out of this thing I don't care what you read. Overall I highly recommend it.

This device is a beast compared to the Steam Deck. I have played Diablo 4 extensively on the handheld and everything is buttery smooth. I also have a coinops retro build that includes tons of arcade games especially Japanese shoot em ups which is perfect. Setup was a pain but other than that its been a blessing. The battery life is decent at best. The illest part of the machine is the screen which is doper than most handheld screens I've played on. No need to upgrade for years. Love my Rog Ally daily played.

The only things holding this handheld computer back are the battery and windows 11 not being great for mobile devices. But windows also means you can install whatever you want with no hoops to jump through. I've been playing Starfield on medium settings with only the games glitches to complain about. I also think they should add a hard point wrist strap so that you can't stumble and drop it if you're carrying it or prevent someone from snatching it out of your hands and running.

I watched many reviews on youtube before decided on getting one and I dont regret my decision at all. Beside of being used as gaming console, I also use it as PC. It is powerful for its size and the fan noise is actually very low, unlike my 5 years old gaming laptop that under heavy gaming the fan noise sounds like jet engine. If you're in budget and deciding between gaming laptop or ROG ally, i will recommend getting a gaming laptop over ROG ally because you get bigger screen and better GPU (rtx 3050 series at best) with costs of $00-200 more than the ROG ally. But if you already have a gaming laptop abd just want something unique, ROG ally is the best choice

ASUS has finally released a Steam Deck competitor, however, the performance, while better than the Deck, is still lackluster compared to expectations. The build quality is quite premium, the screen looks awesome, the triggers and joysticks have a good feel to them, it even has a fingerprint sensor for easy sign-in; physically, the Ally is extremely high quality. The performance is not what I had expected. With a slogan such as "Play ALL your games," I figured an e-sports title such as Overwatch 2 shouldn't be an issue, however, at 720p low settings at the 25w turbo mode I am churning along at 30-40fps with 1% and 0.1% lows at 8fps and 5fps respectively. 25w mode is the highest performance mode it can achieve while not connected to power via its 65w usb c charger, and it drains the battery in minutes via hours when in that mode. I use it while on my breaks at work, which total 1 hour per day, and it is dead by the time I get off. When in 10w "silent" mode it has very poor performance, good enough for some games, but not those that I mostly play, at least. With time these things will get better and better, and I applaud ASUS for the bold move, but maybe I'll wait to buy again for a couple for years at least.
