Great gadget for convenience. Only down side is the sd card reader when it gets hot. Had to use an external card reader.

I have a great PC but wanted more mobility of playing my solo games. This awesome little machine handles Palworld, BG3, Cult of the Lamb, and Fortnite almost as good as my 3080ti. For me, the size is perfect and the quick action button make using this device incredibly easy. I love being able to play my steam and gamepass games on my PC and then transition into bed with ease. I did replace the SSD for a larger one which was a process. (Try the iFixit on Youtube for the tutorial and make sure you designate a whole night for this). However, it was much needed for the extra space and definitely worth it.

Overall not bad for the price. Definitely less expensive than a pc and performace isnt too bad. Great for entry level.

Great product - has so many capabilites whether for gaming, videos, or general Windows use. Love the ability to dock it to a keyboard and monitor for a full-sized experience.

Very cool device! I’m always on the go and it’s nice to sit down after a long day on the couch or in a hotel room and just game. Perfect for traveling :)

The portability and ability to play pc or console games is unmatched! Haven’t had any issues so far and Asus does a good job with steady updates

I had been wanting a handheld PC system and went back and forth for a long time over this or a Steam Deck. I was leaning towards the Steam Deck but found this on sale, and man, this thing is fantastic. There are very few games in my Steam library that aren't controller friendly, and the ones that are all run amazing on this thing. Then you throw in access to both Game Pass PC games and all of the cloud games as well. I'm also able to access everything in my Epic Games, GOG, Amazon, and every other game library. The Asus ROG Ally is worth it, whether it's on sale or full price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

(To be clear, this is a review of the condition of the used item from Best Buy, not on the design of the item itself) I don’t have any previous experience buying open box items from Best Buy but this item I bought (ASUS ROG Ally) was supposed to be “open box excellent” meaning “looks brand new” by their own doscription. The item I received had visible scratches and it was a little dirty including discoloration on the grip from being handled with grimy hands. No one had even bothered to wipe the console down before they resold it.

It’s an amazing gaming device I would give 5 but the battery life is terrible. I can get around 45 min of gameplay before having to plug it in.

Tldr: ROG Ally 5/5, BestBuy Shipping/Support 1/5 and I would give less if that were a real option. Overall 3/5 great product torn down by corporate bureaucracy. I had bought this product to have a windows based alternative to a switch or steamdeck, frankly it works amazing as it can run most indie games I want as well it runs some higer end games. The problem was bestbuy 1-day delivery, a few hours after I bought it suddenly its delayed to a full week. Looking online there were 5 stores within 10 miles of my location that had multiple of the product in stock. Instead they shipped it from halfway across the country, I called customer support 3 different times and each time they basically said there's nothing they can do. Either I cancel the order or wait, seems a bit absurd after the "order within the next 4 hours for 1-day delivery" which bestbuy had no intention to follow through with. Long story short I will explore literally any other option than ordering from here again.

I purchased this device because I’m a diehard Mac user, but there are some games I wanted to play that unfortunately do not have Mac versions. The ROG Ally was a great option for me because it allows me to play Windows-only games without having a traditional Windows computer in my household. I’m impressed with this device’s performance for the price. Besides my frustrations with Windows, (which aren’t specific to this product) the only change I would like to see is an additional USB-C port, maybe Thunderbolt.

This was a great purchase, it’s really handy when traveling.

I love my ally. Runs well and has a great feel til it. I find the joystick layout to be more ergonomic than the layout on my steam deck.

Bought as a gift and they loved it recommend it to everyone

The system controller itself isn’t smooth on its own so I will be purchasing a separate Bluetooth controller for a better experience. Until then, it’s doable.
