Based on the issue described, we recommend pressing and holding the power button for 40 seconds to perform an EC reset. After that, reconnect the power source and boot up the device to see if the issue has improved.     Volume buttons get stuck to quickly, never dropped or even used the button just stop working

      All ASUS products undergo intensive quality control testing and inspections, the volume buttons getting stuck is a random problem. ASUS provides warranty coverage for the product in order to fix or repair any hardware or part that stop working prematurely under normal usage. We recommend that you send the product in for service in order to determine if this is a hardware issue so this may be resolved immediately. A RMA number is required to send it in for service.     Great Device, consider the Z1 Extreme Version

    The ROG ally is a great device overall. It opens up the door to some portable gaming experiences that aren't otherwise possible. Build quality is excellent. The device feels great in hand, very sturdy. The controller buttons and sticks feel excellent. Upon booting up the device, you have to go through a few windows 11 setup processes which was easier than I expected. Windows does work with touch gestures, even if its a little awkward at times. Once I got to the windows desktop, Armory crate SE automatically launches which provides a useful and easy front end for the device. From here you can launch your games or your game launchers and change settings for the device. There is also a quick access button on the Ally to change settings such as performance modes, volume, and keyboard/gamepad mode. Because the Ally runs windows, there are no compatibility issues with games. It is also easy to install emulators - just install them on a windows PC and copy to a flash drive, and move the files over. The screen is truly impressive. On this device you can play halo master chief collection with buttery smooth frame rates and no tearing. It's a really great experience. Any older or less demanding titles are a joy to play. Speakers are also excellent. Overall usability is good, but not as seamless as a dedicated device running something like steamOS, however this device can play stuff that the Steam device cannot, so it is a trade off. When it comes to game performance, many games are playable if settings are turned down. Buyers should keep in mind this version with the AMD Z1 is less powerful than the Z1 extreme by much more than the price would suggest, so in many cases the Z1 extreme version should be considered for an extra $100. Should this go on sale for $499 while the extreme is still $699, the regular Z1 becomes a nice value.

      It is normal just like any other brand with the same hardware configuration, for the fan to spin at full-throttle and generates noise louder than normal while the device is under heavy load like gaming.


      When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle and noise will be louder than normal.     This is my review of the ASUS ROG Ally 7" Gaming handheld device. This is portable PC gaming at it's best. This is a handheld labtop running windows 11. It's lightweight and feels comfortable in the palms of my hands. The build quality also feels good. I feel very comfortable just throwing it in my back pack and taking it with me where ever I may go. It's great for gaming on the go. The list of games you can get on this unit is crazy. And the armoury crate software dose a good job of helping you keep up with all of them. You can even setup different custom controllers for different games. And the image quality on this screen is very impressive. Being a smaller screen even the 1080p looks very good. You can see great details and imaging with no lag. Most all the games I tried out I was seeing 55+ fps. One draw back would be battery life. But I'm never that far from an outlet so charging hasn't been to big of an issue just yet. And when the game play being so good I can over look this one drawback and give it 5 stars. All in all I am very pleased with this unit and feel my desktop won't get as much use now.
