If you're seeking a larger display, you might want to consider the Echo Show 8 with its 8" screen which offers more viewing area while still providing all the great Alexa features.
Regarding the stand, the Echo Show 5 does come with a built-in stand that allows it to sit on flat surfaces, but if you're looking for an adjustable stand for better positioning and viewing angles, those are indeed sold separately as accessories.

It sounds good, but doesn’t work with AirPlay or Chromecast. I understand what the major players are doing, but the big three ecosystems choosing not to support features that the other ones have is frustrating. Amazon products are basically adware, you pay a lower price in exchange for a worse experimece, data collection and constant ads.
