I bought this in January but it is now not working properly. The filters have all been cleaned. The reset button was used but it continues to flash a blue light when it was solid at 100%. Then it goes white with spinning symbols. The fan ramps up then immediately down. This is ridiculous for the amount of money it cost. I am very disappointed because of my severe asthma I rely on an air purifier.

I’ll save you some time off the bat and let you know that this is a great, easy to use product. Out of the box, nothing really to note here as the packing isn’t necessarily eye popping. If anything, it’s very busy and reminds me of an “as seen on TV ad”. Not a bas thing at all, there’s just no fancy packaging here. The first step when you take the machine out is to open it, unwrap the hepa filter, and re-insert it. Very simple and I get maybe WHY they don’t want to ship these with the filter unwrapped but I almost imagine most people would prefer it already to be done. Either way, not docking them for that. From there, you’ll also install the deodorizer through the top, plug it in and you’re all set. Done. That’s it. Basically one minute from out of the box and you’re on your way to clean air. The design is sleek and modern. The instructions are bleak as they’re hardly even needed but mostly tap you in to their website with some YouTube videos on using your filter. So far, I’ve had mine running 24/7, it’s real quiet when on low so I don’t mind. That said, I’m not sure if you’re SUPPOSED to have it on constantly as they YouTube videos kind of hint at only using it part time, but never outright say if it’s a good or bad thing. There’s a neat display in the front that’s bold, color coded, and obvious that indicates what the quality of the air in your home is. If it detects poor air, it filters it back up to 100% (or closest too). You can turn the display from bright to dim to off, I’ve kept mine at the dim setting and been pleased that it’s readable but not distracting. There’s an on/off digital button on top, a fan button that has five speeds or an auto feature, a separate deodorizer with a dial on how strong you want it, and a button for if you want to run for 1 or 8 hours. While I’m VERY glad this isn’t yet another device with an accompanied app, I almost wish it had one so I could not only control this from a distance but have more than two options on what time I want it to run for. All said, it seems like a very smart device as we have a new puppy who has so far had two accidents with the device running. It’s almost a blessing and a curse as it does such a good job filtering air and odors that you don’t know when she makes a mess but guests think the house still smells brand new. We’ve largely left the fan on auto and it mostly sits at level one in case something is making a stink. Such as… I fried bacon the other morning and you’d hardly know if you walked around the house because within minutes of that pig fat boiling up, the fan was on high whisking those odors away. Do note that the fan on high is relatively loud all things considered. It’s a fan, not a jet engine but you’ll know when it’s on high vs low. My only major gripe and concern is that it seems to be based more off air purity than air quality. Meaning that we ran an essential oil diffuser in the other room and the purifier immediately indicated we had poor air, sucked all the fragranced air up and “deodorized” the room. Lesson learned and I understand why that happened but it’s just frustrating that if you ever want your house to smell nicer/different than the baseline, you’ll have to turn this device off. Besides that though, it’s sleek, modern, quiet, smart and I highly recommend it.

Seemed to work fine for about 3 months. After 3 months (and after the return period ended), it suddenly reads 0% air quality. There are no strange environmental issues that would cause that reading. I've tried the troubleshooting tips but nothing helps. I hope the warranty process is easy but expect that I will be charged shipping costs related to shipping it back to the manufacturer. I would not buy it again.

There are many things to like about this new air purifier from Shark, but there are also things that can be improved. Functionally, it works very well as you would expect from any air purifier. To start with the positives, it is very easy and intuitive to use. The touch buttons makes sense without needing a manual, and the display that shows your air quality can be very informative and easy to understand. There are two side mesh panels that can collect large particles and can be removed for washing. Chancing the main air filter is also simple as you will notice when removing the plastic covers during installation. Their scent features is also well placed and you smell it working immediately anytime the unit is running. The auto run feature is interesting to say the least. You would expect it to only run when the quality is bad, but it basically runs even when it says 100% quality. Not all the time, but at least 2-3 times a day which is more than my other auto detect air purifier in the same room. Personally, I do not mind since it does odor neutralizing but it would have been nice to be able to customize this setting. For improvements, there are many minor ones to list. For starters, the handles are unintuitive. There are two on the side that looks like they are for carrying, but in reality they are for removing the side mesh panels. What you have to do is carry it with the singular handle in the back, making it awkward and unbalanced when moving it around. So if you plan to move this quite a bit, maybe look elsewhere or deal with the inconvenience. Another complaint is the info display - it is either on or off. When you have the unit set to auto, the display stays on even if the unit is not running. There should be a setting to not display when not running, it just feels unnecessary to see 100% air quality for no reason. If you were looking for a whisper quiet fan, this may not be the right choice. At level 1, it is ok. But level 2 is not only quite a bit louder, the bearings on the fan rattle just a tiny bit. Finally, their claims on the longer lasting filters shouldn't really be a selling point. They are essentially saying the HEPA filter lasts longer because there are some additional outer layers to block larger particles before hitting the inner HEPA layer. We don't know what their "competitor" filters are being compared against. It also says the filter doesn't need changing, but then also says for 5 years? These are misleading advertising specifications and shouldn't be a factor when making your purchasing decision. Overall, aside from a few complaints, the unit itself does its job as a purifier decently. The automatic feature will give you a peace of mind, and the size of the unit gives it much more impact wherever it is used.

Plugged it in and it said my air was 95% clean already so not sure it it was actually working or not. After running a couple of hours it made a loud noise.
