Dyson - V11 Extra Cordless Vacuum - Nickel/Iron First time with a Dyson vacuum and I have to say that for the most part, I am impressed! The box was really packaged well – each piece came in its own cardboard container and packed inside the box very safely. Thankfully all of the packaging is recyclable because there was a lot! The Dyson V11 is a well-made sturdy cordless vacuum with more pros than cons. Out of the box you should place it on the charger to get 100% battery life before using. It comes with a small charge that you can test out to make sure it works. After about 3.5 – 4 hrs you will have a fully charged battery that is ready to get to work. There are 3 power modes and the default is Medium – which is for everyday use and seems to be a nice setting. The Eco setting is the lowest and for me is for using on the tile kitchen and bath floors for a quick vacuum. The Boost mode is a beast mode where as it really has great suction, however, the battery depletes rapidly with this setting. This can be wall mounted with the mount that is in the box but needs to be mounted near an outlet if you are going to charge it there. The screen will remind you when it's time to wash your filters. You can pull on the trigger for a few seconds to see your machine's remaining run time. The vacuum will pulsate and the LCD screen will alert you if it senses a blockage in your machine. There is no real user’s manual for those that need/want one for reference. You can use the Dyson app for further instruction and videos – which I found helpful. I also would have liked a bag for all the great attachments that came with the vacuum – I just used a drawstring backpack for mine. My first long vacuum of all the carpeted areas in my house was done in Medium mode with no battery problem. My issue with this is that you have to hold the power button continuously to use the vacuum. This became an issue with me and I had to switch hands every so often as the vacuum head piece is heavy and it was hurting my hands. Would have been much better with a real on/off switch. I have a medium hair cat that sheds a lot and the cup fills up quickly with his fur To clean the bin was simple, push the red lever over a trashcan and it sweeps the contents into the trash and then you just close up the end piece of the bin. Car cleaning!! Love the crevice tool and the ability to use the attachments to clean out the car mats and back of my SUV – great suction and easy to maneuver the machine top in those areas. I also enjoyed the ease of cleaning my mini blinds in the spare bedroom using the soft dusting brush. Another wish is that I would love it to have a light somewhere on the front of the main vacuum piece. Yep, would recommend this powerful vacuum - especially for those who have pets!!

This stick vacuum comes with a charger, wall hanger, connecting shaft and several attachments for all kinds of cleaning needs. If you have space on a wall you can hang the vacuum. Even better if you have space on a wall near a plug, you can have it charge whenever you hang it up there. If you don’t have the wall space to hang it, you can easily put it into a closet and take it out and charge it when needed. There is an LCD screen on the top of this vacuum. The screen gives you different information such as what speed/suction setting it is on and how much of a charge remains. I love the charge remaining time screen, so you know if you have enough time left to do the job. There is a trigger to start this machine to vacuum. You barely need to touch it and the vacuum starts. I found this a bit annoying at first. When I am just moving the vacuum from room to room I need to be careful, otherwise it starts unexpectedly. Once you are used to this though it does help to preserve the battery life as it will automatically stop the second you move your finger. The roller of this vacuum works great for long hair. Surprisingly long hair does not get stuck on the roller. In my household, there are 2 women with very long hair and this is a constant battle for us, i.e. constantly cleaning the roller. It makes for VERY easy cleaning. Emptying the Dyson is easy. You simply remove the shaft attachment (or any attachment you are using at the time), place it over your garbage can and press the button so the bottom opens and out comes everything you vacuumed up. Another bonus is that you do not have to replace filters. This unit has a washable filter. Simply twist the filter unit, and rinse it off. Tap it over the garbage to remove any excess dirt, to avoid a mess. My favorite thing about this vacuum is that it is cordless. You can take the vacuum anywhere, even outside to vacuum your car. You don’t have to worry about a cord or a place to plug into when you move from room to room. The battery will last about an hour, so you have plenty of time to get your house clean on one charge, unless you have a large house to vacuum. I have had other vacuums like this and this one tops them all for convenience. I highly recommend this vacuum.

This Dyson is remarkable because it's virtually as powerful as my corded upright vacuum yet it's small, easy to use, and has decent battery life. I have used a couple of other battery stick vacuums in the past and they do an OK job with hard floor but when it comes to carpet, they can never keep up with a corded vacuum. This Dyson can actually keep up with a corded vacuum on carpet, which is remarkable. I have a German Shepherd who sheds hair all around the house so we vacuum several times a week. The vacuum setup was simple and easy. I had a spot in my laundry room where I mounted the charging holder, but it is possible to use it without the holder by just plugging it in. The battery takes a few hours to charge. The vacuuming performance on hard floor and carpet is excellent. With stick vacuums, the convenience of a battery and the light weight smaller size means you can accomplish a 5-10 minute quick clean of common areas in the house easily without dealing with a cord and carrying a bigger vacuum up stairs. And with the suction of this Dyson, it's powerful enough to replace a normal upright vacuum for many people. The battery life is also good. With the normal medium setting, it takes about 10-15 minutes to drop from full to 2/3 battery. The dust can is easy to empty. There is a filter, but it doesn't seem to be designed to need cleaning frequently like some other vacuums. I used the vacuum every day for 5-6 days and the filter appears brand new. I found that on some types of carpet or small rugs, the suction can be almost too much and the vacuum gets difficult to push, but it still cleaned very well. I don't think there is an air bypass to help those situations but switching to low eco mode can help. There is no light on the vacuum brush head if that matters to you. The build quality seems adequate but I hope it holds up over time, only time will tell. Overall I found this an awesome product due to the suction power rivaling upright vacuums on carpet and hard floor, yet in the convenience light weight package of a stick vacuum, while still having usable battery life.

I used this at my sons house and we loved this roduct so much i bought when we came back to Texas. We have a fury friend that sheds and this product is perfect. We dont need to undo an electrical cord like on our other vac and wrap it back up when we are done. We just grab it squeeze the trigger and go. This is a must have. It cleans the floor and the carpet.

Light weight with lots of great attachments. Makes vacuuming so easy we find ourselves vacuuming twice as often. Love it!

Overall I am very happy with the Dyson V11 Cordless vacuum. The one thing that could be improved is the fact that you must hold the trigger while vacuuming. This is uncomfortable on my hand. It needs an on/off switch. It does a great job on both carpet and hard floors and the battery life is good. I replaced a very old purple Dyson upright that was heavy and had a cord. I love that this one is cordless and light.

Once again Dyson hit it out of the park! Very easy to use and extremely lightweight compared to the older models. Does an excellent job!

I have been looking for a cordless vacuum for ages that helps with pet hair. There are many cordless options out there and I have used a few but none of them were specifically for pet hair and they always would fail or not do a great job in that area. Well finally I found something that fits the bill. This Dyson V11 has been awesome so far. Out of the box it was a bit alarming and confusing as it comes with an insane amount of attachments and in my opinion a bit too many, but after some trial and error on what goes where I was able to get the main assembly complete. The vacuum comes with 3 speed options, including an "eco" mode to prolong the use of the battery. So far I have been able to run through my whole house without needing a charge. It should hold up to everyday use for quite a while before needing a charge. One of the "pros" I would say is that it includes a wall mount for the charger. You have to install the wall bracket first, and run the plug end of the charger up through the mount and secure it, but once you do, you have the ability to leave the battery attached to the vacuum, and just lift and plug in the whole unit to the wall mount. This is a nice option in order to not have to remove the battery to plug in to charge, and then possibly forget where the battery is when you need to use the vacuum itself. This also helps so you can install the mount discreetly in a corner somewhere and store the vacuum there, as long as you have access to a plug. The other pro as I mentioned is the vacuums ability to clean pet hair. One of the additional attachments is a mini vacuum designed for pet hair I believe. It is built with a rubber screw on the inside that is free floating on one end so no hair gets tangled up in it. I used this on my animals beds and on the coaches and it worked great. I see myself using this all the time. The only real "con" to this is the insane amount of attachments. I think they could have eliminated 2-3 of them. Also one of the attachments is a bendy 4" piece to attach to the main "stick" so that it can "bend" and fit under hard to reach furniture. I think this is a good idea in theory but poorly executed. They could have easily just built this "bendy" section into the main vacuum stick shaft, and including a button the shaft to trigger the "bendy" feature of this. There is a Shark brand that includes this built in exactly as I stated and it worked great. Unfortunately that unit had its own issued though. But with this Dyson model, basically while you are in the process of vacuuming, you have to take a break, change out the attachment, then use it. Just seems time consuming when it could have been built in with a simple tweak. Overall a solid unit and very recommended.

The best cordless vacuum you can find. This is our 4th one. we keep one in our home and one in our travel trailer. It actually came with our trailer. this last one we bought is for our home. it picks up the dog hair excellent. We have 2 mini australian Shepherds and they shed alot, alot.

Perfect vacuum for all! My wife loves its maneuverability and lightweight. Angles well under beds and other furniture. Highly recall.
