Better than Expected and Great Gaming All Around

I have had my Legion Go for a few weeks now and have spent about 30+ hours tinkering and playing with it. High level takeaway; it's a fantastic handheld gaming PC in a familar handheld. Cons: - Windows 11 is a terrible interface for something that basically operates as a tablet. As in truly bad. - It's heavy; about twice the weight of the Switch OLED - The "Legion Space" software is clunky overall (reasonably expected to improve over the next few months) - Battery life - You can get about 90 minutes out of a AAA game in (high) performance mode. You can make a great deal of tweaks to extend but if you are pushing for the absolute max experience the device can provide 90 is as good as you will get. - The Dpad is basic and really could have been better - Set-up: It's a computer in Switch form so it requires all the windows and driver updates and settings preferences to be usable and that takes quite a bit of time. Pros: - The touch screen is massive, crisp, bright, responsive and has a 144 hrz refresh rate (you can lower it to save battery). At a 2560x1600 resolution it simply looks fantastic. - It has the needed to power to play anything. I tested out Cyberpunk's Phantom Liberty expansion which is about as demanding as any game out there and it performed beautifully at slightly above medium settings. Looked GREAT. - The removeable controllers feel great in hand and the whole device feels sturdy and high-quality - The kickstand is the best I've ever seen on any device - The included hard shell carrying case is extremely high quality - FPS mode turned out to be great and more than the gimmick I anticipated - It's shockingly quiet! You can direct the fan to blow at max speed which makes it noisier, but it's adaptive and even playing demanding games it never got close to max speed. (Why would anyone want the fan set to max if it isn't needed?) - It runs surprisingly cool - never saw anything above 70 Celsius and that was only for a few seconds. Average was around 56 -62. - Compatibility - Steam, Gamepass, Epic Games store, GOG, etc... because it is windows it happily gets along with everything. Twitch, Discord, etc... - It's a computer - All the positives that come with that. Streaming services, email, browsing the web, and countless other things it does them all beautifully Laying in bed and playing Starfield, Cyberpunk, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other "AAA" games has been pure joy and freed up the TV for my wife to watch whatever she wanted. Overall, I'm loving the Legion Go thus far and am glad to have it. Updates over time will add some quality of life improvements as well.

Great device. Used it for a year and a half, loved every minute I owed it. Just bought the legion go 2, the 8.8 inch screen is the selling point for me, 7 inch is way too small, even 8 feels small compared to this beast.

I had a ps5 and i never would turn it on. Since I got the legion go, I cant put it down. Wait I take that back. The only time I do is when the battery dies and with heavy games it dies in two hours. Besides that I have no con. Immersive screen! Great controllers! Make sure you get the 1 TB version and you are set!

If you understand the limitations of the hardware in all handheld gaming PCs, then this one knocks it out of the park. The build quality vs the Ally is very noticeable. The display is great with vivid colors and resolution. Yes, you will make adjustments to run AAA games at higher frame rates. But the same can be said for the other 2 major players in this space. Added a dock, portable monitor, and a foldable BT keyboard and now I have a laptop replacement that I use when traveling for work.

I wanted a device to play Xbox, Steam, and PS5 (stream) games. After hours of research, I settled on this beast because of the specs, including screen size. The fact that it’s a Windows 11 device and may require some tinkering is a plus for me. I’ve installed Office and several games from multiple platforms and haven’t encountered any significant issues. The LeGo team (Ben) has been communicating with user communities regularly and adjusting roadmap priorities based on feedback. I gave it four, not five, stars because of the size, and need for additional updates.

screen is amazing, fps mode is pretty cool, haven’t really messed with it too much. pretty sure with updates this thing will be beastly. playing fps games right now feel weird right now, something about dead zones. feels great in my hands, its really not that heavy as some people complain about, maybe get a laptop or desktop, maybe do some curls, i dunno. i’ve played on my friends steam deck for a few hrs and playing on this for a few hrs felt no different.

1st and only portable. This thing is very impressive for a handheld. Itll play MOST games on at least low graphics. I play mostly call of duty. The only games I've found it won't run is senua saga 2 and battlefield 2042. The battery is like an hour on mw3. The display is excellent. The removable controller has no lag. I haven't found something I don't like about it yet.

My experience like many was a little rocky in the beginning due to having some software issues that Lenovo needed to work through. Now with the kinks works out I can honestly say I find myself gravitating to this device instead of using my laptop due to the comfort I get in handheld gaming in bed or on the couch. It has the specs to run almost any game without issue. It does have very limited battery life off the cable which is common for other competing handhelds, but I don’t seem to have a real issue with the amount of outlets available.

The legion is a really neat little gaming device. I used it more as a Windows tablet more than a gaming device just because it doesn't have enough juice to run games at high settings. But it did work well with steam link or streaming games. The controllers are not as precise as a normal Xbox controller which was annoying... But you can always connect your control of choice via Bluetooth.

This is great handheld that is very customizable. The initial setup was a bit long because of all the updates. I have had some issues when removing the controllers. When you remove the controller left stick sticks causing everything to move left (stick drift). Very annoying. Battery is another story. Dies really fast and I would recommend being near a power source or having a powerbank. Other than that everything looks good and you can see the potential for future hardware improvements.

This Device Meets My Expectations And More!

I have been reading and researching this device for over 2 months before release. When I first found out about this from the leaks I was very excited. I am a Steam Deck owner and user for over a year now, I ordered that as soon it was announced also. I almost went for the ASUS Rog Ally but it filled to similar of a niche as my Deck. The Legion Go with its detachable controllers, larger screen, and Z1 Extreme (like the Ally) had me pretty well sold. I was in the market to get a new tablet also and was holding off, this device for me would also fill that need and use case (using Android emulation for android gaming). I really was actually wanting a Windows handheld, even with all of Windows imperfections for a handheld, I am very comfortable using windows even on a mobile device like the Legion Go. I will do a more in-depth review after some more use and testing but be sure to do your reasearch to know what to expect and what your getting into before purchasing.

The Lenovo Legion Go continues to exceed expectations with its detachable controllers and innovative mouse functionality. Notably, each Friday brings comprehensive community updates from dedicated developers, offering in-depth insights into upcoming features and fixes, fostering transparency and active user engagement. As for the device's future, the release of drawings for third-party attachments opens up a realm of exciting possibilities. Users and developers could create custom sound amplifiers to enhance audio quality and direct sound towards the player. Specialized control attachments for specific game genres could offer unique input methods and enhance gameplay. Additionally, ergonomic grips, accessory mounts, controller reinforcements, battery extenders, docking stations, external cooling solutions, and even carrying and protective cases are all within the realm of possibility. Despite the expected weight due to the substantial screen and battery, the Legion Go maintains a premium feel, although the controllers might feel somewhat plastic and hollow. It's worth mentioning that their lightweight design helps offset this drawback. While the onboard speakers leave room for improvement, the availability of the free FX Sound app suggests potential enhancements in future device updates. Furthermore, Windows 11's incomplete controller support for navigation remains a challenge. However, the overall experience, coupled with the unwavering commitment of the developers, firmly establishes the Legion Go as a frontrunner in the gaming handheld market.

I came from my steam deck wanting more power and some freedom with windows OS. Chose this over the rog ally because of the peripherals….i loved the idea of switch like controllers that could double as a mouse. And man im in love. It’s certainly not perfect, and windows in these things will always be somewhat decisive but i have no complaints with the desktop. Its just an all around great device and the best windows handheld out there.

If you don't mind having to fix settings and troubleshooting, the legion go is amazing. The screen is awesome. The speakers are pretty weak but there are fixes that can be done to make them sound much better. They aren't the most comfortable but they are solid and not wobbly. The system cooling is excellently compared to another handheld we have tried. The battery isn't the longest lasting but its good for a couple hours of gaming. Even more if you adjust settings on simpler games.
