    Fantastic Hardware, Suboptimal Software

Let me start by saying this device is VERY NEW in comparison to other handhelds. I have hope after seeing Lenovo's activity and updates that this will temporarily be king handheld until more efficient APUs + higher density memory becomes the standard. If Lenovo can fine tune the software (BIOS + everything on windows) I have no doubts that this will be a fantastic handheld.

Overall I am very happy with the deal recieved on this fabulous device! I turned my Legion into a Steamdeck with 1tb ssd. A little stronger than my Steamdeck lcd. I plan to use this as my defacto Game setup for a while until some more powerful but affordable improvements become availble. I also makes for a good linux pc.

    It's a Win(dows)nner!

Sleek and attractive, but the real value is under the hood. Surprisingly robust as a portable gaming system, with an ease-of-use that comes courtesy of the Windows OS (either a strength or a detriment when compared to the Steam Deck, depending on your preferences). I'm using it largely for indie games, as I can't bear the thought of playing Elden Ring on such a small screen (and it's large by handheld standards!), but with some tweaks and know-how this little powerhouse can handle your heftier titles as well. With the addition of Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, I've also used it essentially as a laptop for those times when I need to type up a document or do some research on the internet when I have no access to my desktop (or when I can't be bothered to walk up the stairs to get to it, I must admit). A very minor frustration is that the case that it comes with does not have room for its own adapter/cable, so I recommend getting an additional case as well as a power bank; additional accessories I purchased were a screen protector and grips, as the Lenovo can get a bit slick if your hands get sweaty during some intense gameplay!

How much free time do you have

The Legion go proves itself to take up most of your free time. Sadly, it does this, not with allowing you to game, but takes it up with asking you to tinker to make it work. Sound: sound is not optimized very well you will quickly find yourself needing to make adjustments you get options such as downloading third-party apps or going on YouTube and figuring out how to best use what’s on the device. Graphics: this is the biggest one for me I wasn’t aware and I did not realize that Lenovo hasn’t had a update on its graphics driver in eight months thus many games coming out now such as Black Ops 6 will constantly tell you to update your video driver, and no matter how many times you do it using the Lenovo system you will find that they do not have up-to-date drivers meaning the game will always run poorly. If if you want it to run better, there’s an option called “side loading“. Basically you’re deleting what Lenovo offers, preventing windows from updating, and then downloading directly from AMD, which could potentially create issues. The truth is, I could write much much more, but I would be giving the Legion go even more of my free time not gaming at the cost of a PS five I would’ve assumed at the minimum that this would be able to run games as well when I put on dead space sadly that game ran terribly. As a father, I do not have a lot of free time and I’m sure you’re over here a bunch of reviews about if you just have the time to optimize the system. It is amazing. I won’t lie. The screen is absolutely beautiful however, I do not have enough free time to tinker for hours on in to attempt to make a game to work when I can buy an ally X, steam deck, etc. That would play games better and quicker. Finally, the battery life is terrible and making adjustments to that again. If you have the time to tinker, I’m sure you can make it work but again as someone who doesn’t have a lot of free time it’s asking too much of me when all I want to do is turn it on and play. So again, if you have free time, and you have real great knowledge of windows, I’m sure you can make this system amazing and run super well, but if you’re much like me where you work and have children a very limited free time this system is not designed for you

    Good Concept, Mediocre Execution

The Legion Go is a fairly powerful mobile console. It can run games at a good quality. Though with that, there are some annoying downsides. Some games would not pick up the controllers when they were detached from the console. The controllers themselves have a couple issues as well. The buttons on the back feel fairly cheap and I do not like how the controllers detach and attach to the console. Lastly, the console does get pretty hot and the fans get annoying. I like the concept of this console, but it is easy to tell that it needs to go through more revisions before it becomes great.

I really like the Legion Go, but its true that the software is half baked and this needs more time. I'm sure this device will be heavily supported and optimized and games will also get optimized for this device, but as it stands right now, needs some work. Hardware wise hits all the right things, with the exception of a fingerprint reader. Overall think this will get to 5 stars over time.

I love the Lenovo go they are still working out the software kinks but it is getting better day by day in the beginning, I was afraid to use it because it was so expensive but now I can’t put it down. It is a very powerful machine I know it’s on the pricier side but it is worth it for the quality.

I'm enjoying this device so far. With the right settings it plays newer games like expedition 33 or borderlands 4 in a nice handheld experience. Just know If you're expecting pc like graphics on a handheld you're deluding yourself.

I absolutely love my Legion go. I almost purchased a steam deck and then found out about this. I am extremely happy with its performance how powerful this unit is for a handheld. I also use this unit as a portable computer. It with a keyboard and mouse And portable monitor make it just like a gaming computer.

The Legion Go is amazing. Out of the box experience is better then the Ally's original amount of box experience. Lenovo is also being very transparent with their update path and plan forward. The legion go is getting the support it needs to surpass the Ally 100%. Also having 2 usb-4 slots is a game changer. Mine docks up to EGPU 4070 when at home and it smashes everything. On to go it also performs extremely well. My only complaint (shared across all these hand helds) is that they are limited to 16gb of ram and since the GPU pulls the ram you never see that type of usable ram for the device itself. I would have happily paid 200 dollars more for the same device with out of box 32gb of ram. Then follow that up with vram options in bios all the way to 10 or 12gb. It would turn this machine into a powerful monster.
