Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Envy 2-in-1 laptop's performance, touchscreen, and battery life, frequently praising its speed, responsiveness, and clarity. Many appreciate the lightweight design and ease of use, along with the ample storage and great price. While some users noted the laptop can get warm during extended use and the fan can be noticeable at times, the positive feedback significantly outweighs the negative. The sleek design and overall user experience are also frequently highlighted.

Bought this for middle schooler, loved the screen, keyboard, not too heavy at 14", easy to set up. Battery life is not as expected but will be changing some settings in hopes it will help. Bought our first on 8/6 with turning on and setting up on 8/11 just before school started 8/12. Sadly on 8/22 it completely DIED. GeekSquad asked me to just exchange and well here we are with a 2nd exact model. Not sure it will last (rep said should last up to 7 years) but if I can find another model for under $700 as I found this one on sale I would probably go with another. I've read tablet mode will eventually cause hinges to break. Will change rating if our 2nd lasts longer.

Touch Screen NG after 2 wks - HP refused warranty

Touch screen broke after 2 weeks of use. After multiple attempted phone calls (long hold times and random disconnects) I finally got through to support who issued a repair order. After they received it, HP tech support said it was not going to be a covered repair since it was "customer damaged" and would cost me over $500 for the repair. I took photos of all angles of the laptop and screen showing it has no evidence of damage or mishandling and filed a claim with my credit card company. My last two laptop purchases were HP, but never again.

I wanted to like this but the screen just didn’t hold a candle to the OLED display of the ASUS Zenbook I tried in the same price range with similar specs. I did like the form factor and build quality but the screen just looked washed out to my eyes. The facial recognition feature was also buggy and inconsistent.

I am writing this review on my HP elitebook 8770w which is very old running windows 10. I have owned numerous HP items over the past 35 or so years and most were standard setters in the best sense of the word. The HP Envy is also a standard setter in the worst way. From the initial setup it proved to be quirky and within 2 weeks "quirky" turned out to be a warning of impending failure. The USB-C charging port failed. About the same time the "black screen of death" began showing it's ugly face. (At this time I was several thousand miles from home and had to wait to drop it off at Best Buy. That was on July 17th. By early Aug the unit was declared DOA by the Geek Squad. HP, your new standard is too low! This laptop missed the mark that at one time made HP a highly respected company.

Bought a laptop in September and used it a few times. In December it stopped working. I brought it in for repair, and it took about 2 months get done, l mean, it couldn’t get fixed and they decided to give me a new. My frustration was because l needed my laptop during the holidays to work and they didn’t have my computer ready, as promised or neither an option to get me something else to use to work. I got behind schedule with all my work because l could get the job done while traveling. For that reason l got the computer, right?! The good thing is, they will give me a new laptop but, they want to me to buy a new protection plan for the new laptop. I got the protection plan for acidental and damage, not for factory issue, that should be covered by it own warranty. It’s getting interesting…

Everything is very good except the screen! It is FHD 300nit but is the worst display in the all brand laptops. Should buy the 2.8k one.

This is my 3rd HP and last. Last 2 were Spectres that both had the fans stop working. Learned my lesson. This was supposed to be a secondary PC to use on the go. It's been 3 months and 4 days. My laptop won't turn on and won't take a charge. Could be battery, could be motherboard, but i know one thing: it couldn't be me again. im getting my money back on this and going ASUS or Lenovo or if I can get a good deal, Microsoft like my main PC.
