    I use this laptop for software development, CAD/CAM, and industrial automation. Often, I'm running 2 virtual machines, in addition to my host OS, and this laptop doesn't skip a beat. The laptop feels solidly built, is relatively heavy for a laptop, and has a pretty massive power adapter. For the ultra thin MacBook Air types, the Raider laptop has a completely different portability profile. Also, the aspect ratio of the screen makes it more square than rectangular, which can make finding laptop backpacks somewhat difficult. Lastly, the graphics card probably contributes to 33% or more of this laptop's price. I'm not a gamer anymore, but I wish there was more transparency with the Nvidia software to let me know when I am using the powerful GPU for applications and when it is using an integrated GPU. If I'm spending all this money on a GPU, it better be getting utilized.

    I love it. MSI has finally figured out how to keep a high-performance laptop nice and cool. I will say this - it’s LOUD. Louder than any other laptop I’ve ever had. But it’s only white noise that’s indiscernible when you’re gaming at a medium volume. Can’t speak for durability, haven’t had it long enough. But right out of the box this is a beast.
