The ROG Ally X is the superior choice over the standard ROG Ally— you’ll get much better battery life, a larger hard drive (1 TB) and other problems such as the SD card overheating/frying has been fixed. You’ll want to pick up the ROG Ally Premium case as well to protect your investment! There are some issues with Win 11 glitching out on installing COD Black Ops 6 but other than that I have ZERO complaints!

I am really glad I purchased the ROG Ally X! I like that it is Windows based and I can pretty much play any game. Even if it’s point and click games this drive works great, however you just have to map the buttons so that takes a little extra work, but I enjoy doing that, If you only plan to play games that are compatible with a controller, it is easy to play your games, it also has 2 USB-C ports so you can easily dock it and charge it or plug in other devices.

I'll start off by saying I do like this handheld. It's the best on the market I believe. My major issue is value. Pros: Powerful, portable windows PC with gaming joysticks. NO issues out of the box. Plays everything you would expect to play and more. Negatives: PRICE. This thing is $799. You have to let that sink in and reevaluate what your getting. You can pretty much buy a laptop, with more power for the same price. A handheld should not cost that much. The steam deck and switch are correctly priced in my opinion for what your getting. I bought this because I got caught up in the reviews and wanting the best. But tons of buyers remorse, and from seeing all the used ones for sale, I can see why. Battery: not the best when you're on the go. You can upgrade the part, but it should just come with that bigger battery for the price your paying. SO in the end, this thing is great, but extremely over priced. You can buy an xbox for half. You can buy a decent gaming laptop for the same price. Get the laptop, and carry around a xbox controller and you have a better solution.

Device works wonderfully. Have had no issues with the games I have been playing on it. Battery life seems to be decent as long as it is not a very demanding game. Would recommend to others.

I waited about 2 years before making this review so it could be accurate. This is definitely worth the price I’ve had no problems streaming from this device and playing games. I do not have a dock but using a usb bus or Bluetooth to play games on the tv has a slight delay it’s only noticeable for fast paced games. Recording can be automatic and with the built in mic you can do everything from it. It come with a built in keyboard but with two usb c ports you can use one for charging and the other for accessories. The controller does have moments where it stops responding but hitting the tab button and cycling to desktop mode and back to controller always fixes it. I rarely have to delete games I don’t have high storage cost games besides gacha games. Games with no controller won’t be a problem either since you can map buttons to operate as keyboard inputs.

Installed bazzite on it and it runs AAA games amazingly. Battery life is way better than anything else on the market and can go even longer when running emulators. Perfect handheld for me!

Excellent device, battery life is incredible, and it just performs extremely well. Windows requires you to enjoy tinkering to get games running smoothly or to set up a nice environment to work and play with, but I like tinkering so it works out.

Honestly very fun can play old games and ne games with no problems fans are not too loud and sound is amazing with AAA batter life could be better but as long as its pluged up games run smooth

A great portable gaming console that packs some impressive power! I’ve been playing modern titles as well as some older 360/PS3 titles. It handles them flawlessly and works great for someone who doesn’t get much opportunity to sit down at a PC. Highly recommended for anyone who has an existing PC game library.

I wasn’t sure how keen I was on handhelds but the Ally X is great. It for sure has its limitations. If you’re willing to sacrifice some of the modern AAA titles super flashy graphic presets, it can hang with mid range PC’s. It really didn’t like playing Borderlands 4 at launch, but the game itself had/has optimization issues.

ROG ALLY is one of the best hand gaming so far. It was easy to set up connect with my other game apps. The battery durability,it is not heavy to hold or carry.

Works great for gaming when I don't feel like leaving bed. Being able to take it anywhere makes it great for travel too!

Runs all of the latest games very smoothly with the VRR screen. Very happy with the purchase. Battery Life is a beast.

ROG ally X is amazing! I'm very excited about the new better life and slight tweaks that they improved. I am getting two hours of game play with Genshin Impact and Death Stranding. I do with the screen was larger as I like to play with some distance or with other controllers. I don't feel the need to keep carrying a batter pack. I only carry a charging block and cable for portability.

Absolutely incredible device! I am an avid PC gamer, and my latest game that I am hooked on is POE2… and the Ally X plays this, like a champ!! Being able to game in bed or on the couch with such a portable device is incredible. Last, if you like the Xbox Style Controller feel.. then this is the handheld for you!

The Rog Ally X is a great companion device if you've got a pc and want to play games on the go. Plus it helps that this device has a bigger battery than most of the other handheld devices on the market.

The Rog Ally X has become my #1 way of gaming. I take it everywhere with me. It’s pretty great, I can run pretty much any game on it.
