Had this for about 9 months now. Despite the new handhelds coming out soon. Runs really well, and I feel no desire to upgrade to the xbox ally x or legion go 2.

The ROG Ally X is definitely a powerful handheld, and I can tell it’s built with high-end specs and performance in mind. The screen looks great and everything runs smoothly, but as an average gamer, I honestly don’t feel like I’m getting $900 worth of value out of it. It’s fast and impressive, but a lot of the technical upgrades are things I can’t really appreciate day to day. For casual gaming, the price just feels way too high, and I think there are more affordable options that would fit my needs just as well.

While good for gaming buyers should understand that this is a handheld PC and not a strictly a game console. Its great for mobile gaming especially while on the bus though you should moderate your expectations when it comes to game settings. As always Windows 11 is a less than appealing experience but is usable once you've tweaked it. 23h2 Installs can do the nro bypass with a usb otg keyboard but 24h2 will need to make a custom windows install and manually download apps as needed.

Its a great option for travel runs good with some games and some has a hard time. If youre looking for something to distract you when youre away this is it

Coming from the original Ally this one is AMAZING. The upgrades for me are perfect I’m a big Call of Duty player so that’s what I use it for the most on the go. The battery life alone has me hooked on it, way longer than the old one. Not the best but it’s definitely an improvement worth noting. The ergonomics are a nice change as well I didn’t notice the difference until I played the old one for an hour and the new one for an hour. Overall if you can afford upgrading I would for the battery but the if not you aren’t missing that much.

Asus took an already solid platform in the ROG ally and made it even better! The upgrade in memory and SSD size results in Better performance in games and more room to store them. Plus, the micro SD slot gave me the ability to increase my storage capacity to 2.5 TB total! Plenty of room to add all the games I would want to take on the road, eliminating the need for a separate SSD. If you are looking for a small form factor gaming pc the Asus Rog Ally is a solid contender worth consideration.

I never owned the original because when I tested it out I really didn’t find the handheld ergonomic at all and was nervous about the battery life This has improved the ergonomics and although it’s not as comfortable as a regular controller for me it’s still fine. Runs every game I’ve played just some AAA need to turn down settings but still looks fine for this size of screen Battery is like 1.5-2 hours on turbo, but if running older less demanding games on silent, can get tons of play time of out this

Best buy in a while! I really like this device. You can play whatever you want.

This has been one of the most back-and-forth purchases I've ever made. On the one hand, it is AWESOME. You can play *almost* everything (not switch or PS5 only games of course) on the go, and the games play SO WELL. The processing on this is incredible. On the other hand, it is EXPENSIVE and I don't really need it since I mostly console game and I'm not on the go that much. But, I'm keeping it, and that should tell you how awesome it is.

This thing is great once you get it “optimized”. Out of the box it is plenty powerful but watching a YouTube guide on how to truly maximize performance really brings this thing to life. I am a pc gamer and wanted to be able to play my games while away from home and this fits that perfect with quite impressive performance for the price and size. Would highly recommend the ROG ALLY X.

Fantastic handheld gaming PC, with substantial improvements over the original model. The Ally X increased battery capacity over the original model, adds more RAM which helps performance in several game titles, and also switches from a 2230 NVMe drive slot to a full 2280. The case needed a little more work to pry open compared to the original Ally when upgrading the SSD, and the new placement of the USB ports moves them much closer to the left bumper, but these are minor annoyances in an otherwise fantastic update to the design.

I love my Rog ally x. Bought on release day, haven’t stopped playing it sense !

This machine is awesome would recommend to any gamer that wants a mobile device

Initial set up is a pain and nowhere near as fast as a Steam Deck. This is about the only negative I have about it. Plays games great and Windows 11 works pretty good on handheld.

The speed in the games is very good, and the graphics are excellent, I like it a lot, like having a gaming PC in your hands and you can use it anywhere, I recommend it.

I got this because my job involves a lot of sitting waiting for a call and man it’s solid it plays all the games I would normally play on my pc with lowered graphic setting obviously, I do have problems with stuttering quite frequently on certain games but nothing so bad to where it’s unplayable, I don’t know if it’s the device itself or just poorly optimized games but other than that it’s awesome, I got myself a carry case off Amazon and you can’t even tell you have it in your bag.

Battery life is gone up and the cooling is better . Plays forza and avatar frontiers with no issues . Wish there was a 2tb option .

Went in for a steam deck, left with this guy. It's definitely more expensive than the steam deck, but it comes with 1TB of storage and it handles really well. It does have some lag when you use a wired mouse with it, making playing some games a little frustrating. But the built in controllers work really well. I just play better with keyboard and mouse.

I love this handheld way batter than i expected a handheld to be This powerfull. No problem playing gta, fortnite, red dead, minecraft, ect. I have alot of dead time at my job and fly a fue times a year so its nice to play games on my deadtime.
