I own 4 PC handhelds and this is easily my favorite. It has fantastic battery life, and a nice 120Hz VRR display.

I've owned a handful of these handheld PCs (All the way back to the original GPD Win 1). While my favorite is still the GPD Win Mini, the Ally X has become my daily driver. Performance has not improved over the 7840U and 8840U chips, but the battery and the cooling gives the extra headway to boost TDP and not feel choked for gaming time or power. When I need the extra power I can always stream my main PC as well. If you're considering one, at the very least give it a try.

Own a steam deck and this one is so much better, higher fps, higher fidelity, more software compatibility for example lossless scaling, if your subscribed to Xbox gamepass or any other gaming subscriptions like ea and ubisoft like i am then this is the one to get.

Awesome product I use it to play call of duty and other games while on travel.

Best in class as of 2024. Surprising how much performance upscaling is able to squeeze out of the 780m APU! Being able to hibernate the device in the middle of a game and resume within seconds is a game changer for busy parents who are often interrupted. This is the primary reason I've switched to using the Ally X instead of my GTX 3070 laptop.

The price tag may be scary but my rog ally X runs games so well! Much better than other handheld gaming devices that feel limited in power/selection. If you pair this with xbox gamepass it's like unlimited games lol.

Hands down the best gaming handheld next to a steam deck. Runs most games as smooth as possible for being a handheld. My best investment in gaming to date.

With proper settings, this is an excellent steam deck competitor, with the higher price going to performance. But rather than being plug and play, a bit of Microsoft setting adjustments are needed. If you dont care about batteries then set it to max and enjoy a handheld gaming beast.

bought this for on the go gaming, didnt have very high expectations/ but i was wrong, this thing is a monster running emulators, and can run almost all my pc steam games(with the exception of a few i older ones that just wont run, but instead crash). my only advise is upgrade the nvme ssd asap, a 4tb samsung 990pro with the heatsink will fit, and maybe a 1tb micro sd card.

It runs windows instead of steam which is much easier to setup. It has a good amount of processing power but runs better if it's plugged in. Which is not the reason I got it. I'm a truck driver so I wanted something to play while I'm waiting at a shipper or in the sleeper berth. Mine came with Xbox game pass free for 3 months. It's slightly awkward to hold if you aren't used to something like this. Everything works as it should but I highly recommend buying a case for it. Got mine on Amazon for about 30 dollars but it was too late. It has a little bit of stick drift from not being in a protected case. It's not unplayable but definitely frustrating. I hardly ever play it now and opted for a gaming laptop instead and play with an Xbox controller. If the steam deck interests you and it's something that youre planning on buying I would recommend trying this instead. Overall I'm not disappointed in my purchase. Just not for me

Got this and gave my friend my SteamDeck, happy with the move on the battery and graphics alone.

Wish it had an Nvidia card in it but. Otherwise it’s doing a great job. I leave it plugged in like a regular computer and connected to a 27” monitor and joystick. So far it’s great.

i have upgrades from the regular ally and its so much faster feels better and the two usbc is so much better than that egpu conector that ill never have because its a 2000 dollar. the back buttons are much smaller but feel okay .overall best upgrade minus the price but it was a gift so i cant complain much.

My son loves it. Excellent purchase, the games run fast, good memory. The only thing I could say is that I had to order the case separately because it doesn't come like others with the case.

Honestly its a really good replacement for a gaming laptop. Uses windows 11 so make sure to Update! Aside from that i do recommend to get the dock to play better at home and great for on the go gaming

Great specs, screen, and build quality. Once you get passed the windows setup its nevsr been easier to play on gamepass or steam with a single device. Onky wish the screen was a bit bigger and the ergos were more aligned with the steam deck
