Great handheld, but faulty (dead pixel)

I actually loved it BUT— my unit had a dead pixel that I noticed after only two days RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the screen, so unforunately I wasn’t able to just overlook the issue. My game had a lot of solid white in some scenes, and the dead pixel stood out a lot. There was also strange dull color/distortion around it, so it was almost like 5 faulty pixels instead of one. If you manage to get a flawless unit, you’ll love it. It’s quick, responsive and handles most current games with no problem. I’m extremely disappointed in my experience, though, and I’m exchanging the faulty console for another unit in hopes there are no issues with this one. I want to like it, but after setting it up and barely playing for even 5+ hours over two days… eh, not a great experience overall. Take your chances, but be vigilant with QA issues— don’t “sleep” on them because they can quickly get worse. If this one doesn’t perform, I’m just going to “downgrade” and grab the 512, Z1E Rog Ally first gen. So far zero issues on that one (partner’s console)!

Lucky i grab it went on salw i dont regret buying this. Plus u can turn it to computer u can also connect it to monitor for bigger screen.

Probably the best out right now for the price. 120hz vrr landscape display and large battery makes for a very good experience. Comfortable and good weight. Slightly more than original ally.

The Be all and End all of PC handheld systems -- I agree. But I ended up returning this for a Lenovo Legion Go. On paper and on your hands, the Ally X is truly a dream machine!! Issue is, once I started to play on the the Legion Go, 7" - 1080p (Ally X) vs 8.8" - 1600p (LeGO), I just kept on going back to the LeGO. The graphics on the LeGO 8.8 / 1600p was just way toooo gorgeous for me to pass up (even with damning 1+ hour battery, I know, I know). Anyway, you can't go wrong with the Ally X -- just don't play the LeGO (what you don't know, you won't miss)

And I love every second of it. The only thing that is a problem is the storage, and I heard the sd card slot is too slow for certain things like games (and that's mainly what I use it for, lol). But maybe if I'm lucky to get a good sd card, I will try in the future. I'm not sure yet.
