Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the IdeaPad 1's performance, ease of use, ample RAM and storage, lightweight design, and long battery life. Many appreciate its value for the price. However, customers are negative about the screen quality, citing issues such as washed-out colors and grainy resolution. The overall experience appears to be positive for most users despite this drawback.

This laptop has good specification. However, display is not even worth it. It seems like very old display technology.

Hello RahilS, we are sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the viewing experience on your IdeaPad. For context, this model features an FHD resolution display, with a TN panel display type; a display panel that generally has narrower viewing angles and lower color accuracy on average than other, higher quality display types, such as IPS panel displays. Due to the IdeaPad 1 series being the most entry level IdeaPad series, more premium features like an IPS display are found higher in our product series, like the IdeaPad 3. We have noted your feedback, and it is good to hear that your IdeaPad otherwise satisfies with its specifications. Lenovo

The hinge on the laptop broke after 7 months of normal use. I am working with lenovo to see if they can fix it but from my internet search this seems to be a known issue. It is unacceptable.

    "Silent" laptop isn't. At all.

I'm a voice actor, and needed a new laptop to use in my recording booth. Asking around among the VO community, this Lenovo was recommended to me as a silent laptop, so good for use in a recording space. This laptop is anything but silent. The hard-drive hisses like a leaky steam-pipe, and at times gets so loud it sounds like it's sitting on an air-vent.

Hi VoxOpuli, we're sorry to hear that your IdeaPad fell short of your expectations. Silence is not a focus on this series of IdeaPad, and to clarify, it features a non-mechanical solid-state drive for storage. Should you wish for your laptop to run more silently, we recommend switching your device to battery saving mode by pressing the Fn + Q keys simultaneously until it is indicated on the display that you are in that mode. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective with us. Lenovo

      Hey AAB1,

Regarding your issue with battery life – there are many variables that contribute to shorter battery life. Thankfully, many of those variables can be adjusted. By default, the system will tend to give more speed when needed, which can sacrifice battery life. If you want to squeeze out more battery life, we recommend users utilize the Lenovo Vantage application that is preinstalled to adjust settings related to power and battery performance (to access relevant settings, open Vantage > Device Settings > Power). Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both worlds.

We hope that you are otherwise enjoying your IdeaPad, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. Lenovo
