Most reviews are right saying you should go into this game as blind as possible so nothing gets spoiled for you. That being said, the game is set up such that you follow 13 individual stories. These sections are the visual novel portions, and there is no real game play other than moving your character to new areas and advancing dialogue with the A button. The combat sections of the game are real time combat experiences via individual stages that you select. They’re required to complete as certain stories will only advance once these stages are done. Even on the normal difficulty the battles aren’t hard, but you do have the option to change the difficulty at any point. You also have the ability to upgrade your characters, and these new skills make clearing levels even easier. It’s a game well worth playing, and it’s a very enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Waited about 2 years for a switch release and it finally came through! Just started the game but I’m few hours in.. visually the game is great, music/voices are all so amazing and the gameplay itself is to me is more complex since it’s mostly an interactive game and partly a strategy-based battles, which is a plus to me because it serves to keep you entertained while progressing into the plot without being burnt out from the many dialogue reads you have to go through. If you’re a fan of sci-fi, visual novels but more into interactive point and click (90’s games like Monkey island, Grim Fandango), mech battles.. then this is one of those games I’d highly recommend!

At first I was not sure I would enjoy this game. Realized I was wrong.

Whether you like good stories, good voice acting, or good RTS/tower defense/turn-based combat, this is a game for you. It's a game that anyone interested should play at least one because the experience is just that unique and incredible. Watching someone else play this particular game is just not the same as having the freedom to make your own gaming decisions, coming up with your own theories, and formulating your own game plan at your own pace. It is one of the only games I've played that had me thinking about the game's story for weeks after I finished the main game.

This game doesn’t disappoint! Prior to purchasing this game, I watched SwitchUp review on Youtube. They’re my go to channel on Switch game reviews.

If you like Terminator, Pacific Rim, War of the Worlds, Twin Peaks or any sci-fi thing from the 80s and 90s, this game is for you. Try not to read anything before playing. Keep in mind that there is a lot of anime tropes and lots of reading. English dub is fantastic.

Haven't gotten very far into the game yet. I like the art style and game play so far though.

Before this game came out, I had heard about the fantastic story. It exceeded my expectation. I had also heard from some that the gameplay was okay, but nothing too great. That exceeded my expectations as well. Easily one of my favorite games on the Switch in the past couple years. Finished it in just a few days.

There is so much to this game the variety is fun. I was quick to give this game a chance when heard there were kaijus and mechs :)

I’ve been playing this for a couple weeks and about 15 hours in. It’s is very intricate and well written. I don’t want to explain much because knowing less while going into this game will allow for a better experience.

Great game. Reminds me of evangelion as i was playing this.
