I had to return this laptop because it was finishing the battery with out using it

Do not buy this laptop. It is slower than slow and takes forever to open new pages

I bought this cheap HP computer just to do basic functions like Microsoft Office and emails. It started off bad by self rebooting itself. Now it runs self diagnostics but the message says unable to run diagnostics. I’m very disappointed in this product and this website makes it hard to understand who to talk to for help. I just want to return it and buy another computer from somewhere else.

It's a great laptop to start my 7 year old daughter off with so that way she's not always on the computer.

The only shot you have at getting this laptop to function properly is to immediately wipe the hard drive out of the box and reinstall Windows. The laptop comes with so much extra software running in the background that the machine slows to a crawl. MacAfee LiveSafe and HP software being major offenders. Uninstalling these apps individually is too cumbersome and never fully resolves the slow performance. It's as if the apps come back from the grave. Reinstall Windows 10 using the Windows refresh tool from the Microsoft website. That will improve things considerably. If you're adventurous, upgrade the RAM. The bottom unscrews easily. Just don't forget the additional screws under the rubber feet and the bottom will come off allowing you to install more RAM. This also helped considerably. You can also add an SSD drive to really bring this machine up to par. If you are too faint of heart for the hardware upgrades, then the clean install will still go a long way in fixing those strange freezes many here are talking about. Think of this machine as a house that a fixer upper and you should be oaky.

I found it hilarious that this laptop started giving me issues on the 15th day so I couldn't return it to best buy. Over a course of a year I sent it back to HP four times from hardware to software issues. I will never buy a HP laptop again. Seems like they just want profits from low quality products. They used to be the best.

Shuts down on it's own often. Playing a video causes fans to flex RPM's so high they generate lift.

It may just be this computer ,when turned on the left side heats up,so its hot . I bought it on line and its not even a month old. It started heating up from day 1. I may have used it 5 to 6 times. I work plowing snow and have been very busy to bring it back to the store within the 15 days , and now they have to send it out to get fixed, not happy.

Tried to add Ram -Geek Squad said you get what you pay for

Went in to Best Buy in Wichita Falls Tx. . Purchased this laptop the geek squad try twice to load office on it was unable. The trouble was with micro soft Office not the laptop I was told. Return both the micro soft office and laptop be for leaving the store. Second time in a month I have tried to purchased a laptop with no success.

Crashed during intial setup, exchanged for another. 2nd Laptop lasted 2 weeks then crashed. wont boot to windows shows hp logo then goes blank caps lock key light blinks in a code. HP used to be a trusted brand?!

This laptop is really slow ! Bad decision, smh !!!

Had some issues with this new laptop, but HP took care of them.

I purchased 2 computers after consulting with some of the staff and telling them what I wanted. They recommended this computer for what I needed ( something for middle school students to do homework and project) It takes at least 2minutes just to start up on both computers.

Very poor battery life and slow processor but light weight

I used to have HP laptops since 1999, But this is a garbage model that never worked. I bough it since 2 months and it keep restarting every one hour. the updates took 12 hrs and just keep restarting, I lost my online test with it. and I did not install any app on it.

It' very slow on wi-fi and is cumbersome due to that.

The laptop is a piece of junk. It shuts off on you when you are using it and reboots itself. The first one did this also and I thought it was defective so I tried the same one again and it does the exact same thing. Don't waste your money on this!
