The configuration is really good for the price you pay. A little on the heavier side of laptops but I guess that’s the trade off for less dollars you spend.

Great processor speed and memory. Battery life is not as great as expected. Maybe 4 hours tops during active use. The main reason for the 4 star rating is that the wifi is only capable of running the 2.4 Ghz band. Therefore you have slower download speeds.

I prefer Lenovo laptops, however, this hp laptop had a good price, very good processor, and memory, so I decided to buy it, so far it was a good choice.

I've worked on and sold more than 30 of this model. The build quality feels good, the keyboard is solid (not a lot of "bounce" in typing like there is on inexpensive models), and it performs well AFTER you replace the terrible hard drive. Every single one of these I've opened up and installed a solid state drive. Once you do that (with a decent MLC or 3D-Nand-based drive), the performance opens right up and it flies. Prior to that, even with the i5 processor, it's performance is middling at best.

Very user friendly, enjoyable touch screen usage. Fast speeds while using unlike smaller storage computers.

I got this computer on sales for my wife. It's touchscreen and seems to be pretty fast.

This laptop seems to be working just fine. It's newer and obviously faster than the old one that came with windows 7... if that gives you an idea on its age. This build quality seems a bit sub-par, but hey, it's a low end laptop. The screen is large enough, but has a very low DPI and not great color representation. For the use it was intended for, this is just fine. Not going to want to do graphics design or anything like that on here.

This item is great.. It took me 22 minutes to set up the laptop with the help of Cortana...And any questions could be asked & clearly answered .. I never thought that I would have been able to handle the new touch screen laptop , However it's as easy as using a touch phone .. I'm a photographer and the screen shows my photos crystal clear... I would definitely recommend this item .. I just have to get an external CDRom for my picture CD's but that's not a big deal..

My Dad was looking to get a new laptop. Nothing elaborate- just a decent mid-range system at a good price. An optical drive was a must. The touch screen has turned out to be more useful than expected. So far so good after about 6 months. The only con would be the chassis. It's pretty basic and seems to be primarily plastic- so I don't think it would tolerate rough handling very well. He uses it as a desktop replacement so that hasn't been an issue.

This HP lapetop was $499 and has i5 speed which goes fast enough for me to get my work done.
