While it was great for the first month. The screen broke on the left side shortly after, apparently this is a common problem! Do not recommend

Only had this laptop for nine months and the hinge is already broken. This laptop is for personal use and NOT business so there is NO reason that the hinge should be broken in ONLY 9 months!

Purchased it new and operation system never worked properly.. Gave it back and bought a different model. Upgraded but still bought you HP......

First couple weeks it worked fine. Then it started taking a long time to load the home screen. Now I just get a blank screen.

The display started coming apart less then a year. Never again will I purchase a HP.

If you are considering this unit, please keep in mind you are looking at a budget line of machines. They will be good but not great. You will not get the ultimate in speed or bells and whistles. This one is better than most in the budget line in my opinion. Good fast processor with lots of storage and memory. Nice big display. Bluetooth is a nice touch. The hard drive is only 5400rpm, so it will not be blazing fast, but more than sufficient for most people who will be using this machine. But I knew the hard drive speed going in, so I am not taking away any stars for it. If there is a weak spot for this computer besides the slow hard drive, it is definitely the wireless card. It is TERRIBLE!!! I know it is a budget system, but come on HP, at least put a decent wireless card in it. Running wireless tests on the factory card I was getting 50mbps on a 100mbps connection, sitting 10 feet away in direct sight of the modem. Wired, I was at 120mbps. I bought a usb wifi adapter and am getting 111mbps wirelessly now in the same spot I tested from earlier and only got 50mbps. Overall I am happy with the purchase. For what I use it for and what I paid, it is a very good machine so far. Even though it is a budget machine with a slow hard drive, I would have given it 5 stars if not for the terrible wireless card.

I got this for the 17" screen at a good price. It's nice and zippy for all standard computing tasks. My only complaint is the funky shape of the arrow keys. What I did not expect is that it actually handles 3D gaming decently. On a lark I tried both Diablo 3 and Overwatch, it had no trouble with either at moderate graphic settings. I may just try Destiny 2 on it as well. Not bad for an on-board chipset. Obviously, this isn't the system to get if you want your graphics cranked up to the bleeding edge, but if you need an economical machine that can also handle current games reasonably well, this isn't a bad choice.

Got the blue screen of death at five months - Geek Squad sent it to HP for warranty repair - diagnostics said RAM issue. HP replaced the mother board - sent it back - wouldn't boot up because of RAM problem. I needed this fixed quickly to begin with, now it has to go back again and school starts in three weeks. I am an adjunct professor and need to redo syllabi with new textbook adoptions. Neither HP or Geek Squad seem to be able to do much other than say it will take 7-9 business days to fix when HP gets it. IF they actually fix it this time. Best Buy would not replace it, so I am stuck. Won't buy HP again when service is this bad. I spent a half hour on chat with their support to no avail to get it expedited.

hinge broke from opening and closing cover after 4-5 months use . hp did not honor warranty said I accidently dropped. beware hinge quality is subpar be very carefull

I wouldnt buy this for wifi, it does not work well

This laptop is slow, the screen resolution is horrible. The speakers are horrible, even turned all the way up you can barely hear them. I should have known better than to buy another piece of junk hp. It has been returned because it was so horrible.

I purchased this computer four years ago and it crashed last week. I’m So disappointed as I thought it would last longer.

It says it has Coolsense technology, but it doesn't

I bought this 9 months ago and I needed to replace it already. I get it was only $450 at the time but it should still have lasted more than 9 months. The sound is very poor. The plastic along the side screen kept coming lose. Pushing it back in caused lines and black spots in the screen which by the end covered half the screen and the hinge popped out (was not dropped) because the plastic alone the side was so cheap. Best Buy said it was dropped which it wasn't so they won't do anything so I went on Ebay and bought a good used HP EliteBook for $250 a month ago and it is built like a tank and I love everything about it.

Slowest computer I have ever used. It's a piece of crap!
