When I have had to return items they were accepted with a simple question of what's going on and let me see if we have a replacement in stock. In most cases I leave with a brand new replacement item.

This was purchased when I returned XBox Headphones that had unexpectedly stopped working. I used the “original extended warranty” for the Exchange. Every time the Warranty is used for Replacing a damaged item, the warranty becomes “used up” and a new one must be purchased.
