5-Year Standard Geek Squad Protection

From TVs to Computers, and Smart Phones, it seems, these days, that electronic devices can fail at a moment's notice. I've always believed in protecting my purchases with Extended Service Plans, and Geek Squad's Service Plans are no exception; I HIGHLY recommend purchasing a Geek Squad protection plan for all sensitive electronics.

Squad came to work on it, within a few minutes, after he left, had 2 call him back, 4 same thing. After 45 mins, he couldn't repair it. Went next day, got a brand new Lg..cost? 0. Yes, when i purchased my new Samsung, u better believe, i got that 5yr...DON'T LEAVE THE store without it...u will b glad, this 1 review u read

Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

Geek Squad came through for me.

They quickly diagnosed the issue, explained the problem clearly and discusses next steps. The following day the agent who came to home informed me that there would be a delay in obtaining the need part and arranged for a complete refund of my purchase, service contract and taxes so I could replace my Hisense TV with a new set of my chosing. In the end, I have a new TV, a new 5 year warranty and almost $100.00 in store credit left over.

It broke 4 years 7 months in the warranty and they offered to give the same model for the new year or $870 towards new tv. It was definitely worth the money. BTW I paid $1000 for the old tv.

There are no complaints on,color or picture. Sound was fine but with the great service we got the best sound bar witch i will leave a review on it as well.
