Disappointed customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a protection plan along with a TV purchase to ensure I had a working and functional TV for at least 5 years. The purchased TV was the high end of the brand at the time and we've enjoyed it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same regarding the protection plan. In my first year, we ran into issues with the TV. It was under manufacturers warranty, so they covered a motherboard replacement. Within a few weeks of the manufacturers warranty ending, ran into more issues with the TV. This is the reason I purchased the protection plan and thought I was covered. It was easy getting someone out to inspect and determine another motherboard replacement was needed. That was during my last week of my remote job. I have since started a new job that's 45mins away. I communicated this and the technician said it wasn't a problem and scheduled a Saturday appointment. The date rolls around and no communication from Best Buy all day. I call and am told no agent was assigned and would escalate my issue. It cascaded downhill more and more from here. I had a total of 5 escalations and >12 interactions with Best Buy customer service via chat, call, and in store. Then I'm finally told by someone at corporate that they don't have Saturday appointments in my area and said I should take PTO. It's a new job that I haven't received any PTO yet, so the rep was basically putting me in position to call out sick and hurt my reputation and employment status with this employer. I ask about options like exchanging or returning for store credit and was told that's not an option because they haven't gotten a chance to fix it. They won't work with you for Saturday appointments. So I've been stuck with a malfunctioning TV for months and am told my only option was to mail a complaint to corporate. I mailed a letter to corporate and still haven't received any type of communication. I've been a long time customer of Best Buy. Very disappointed by this situation and I feel cheated being stuck with a malfunctioning TV. Why would I ever shop at Best Buy again after an experience like this?

Less than a week for the whole process

Surprisingly worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I almost NEVER buy the geeksquad protection, but I bought an expensive television and I made the choice to purchase the plan. Glad that I did! About 2 years after my purchase a red line randomly appreared smack down the middle of the screen. I knew it was out of warranty and at the time I had almost forgot that I purchase the plan until I checked my email. I contacted the geek squad who ultimately determined that it could not be fixed. They replaced the whole tv for no additional cost! I received a brand new television AND an updated model. I was so satisfied that I purchased the protection plan again, a two year this time, but either one is worth the money!

Geek squad will replace or repair anything that goes wrong and coverage is quite comprehensive. And will provide a significant discount on anything that isn't covered. Not to mention excellent support for any questions or issues you might run into. The customer service is excellent and very helpful. When I couldn't properly get my LG oled (bought from BestBuy) to connect with my Xbox series x and soundbar (both purchased elsewhere) one call to geek squad and the rep walked me through the the entire setup a lot more thoroughly (4k 120fps atmos) than any website or video I could find, no questions asked! If you're spending your hard earned money on something you really ought to consider this added layer of security and protection to give you peace of mind.

Worth it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I purchased my first big purchase Tv, I found that Hisense had a great deal on one of their more budget premium options but I was hesitant because of quality control concerns. In the end there was a minor issue with the panel of my tv a couple years into owning it. When I called geek squad about the issue I was able to get my entire tv replaced!! They helped turn a curse into a blessing. Worth every penny.

Must have for OLED TVs!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I worked for geek squad for 6 years. Believe me when I say a 5 year on an OLED is worth it. I’ve seen cases where no warranty was bought, and it’s sad. For any OLED tv it’s a must as only Best Buy offers this! Other line Square trade will not cover burn in, and will give you a hard time about everything to deny a claim. As a former Geeksquad employee we always put the client first and gave excellent service. Just note: for TVs this doesn’t cover personally neglect like breaking it. So keep it away from pets and children if worried. Otherwise all surges, burn ins, components are covered via replacement. Or give card to put towards a new purchase. On LCD with VA, IPS panel can’t say really as the biggest worry is a backlight out, and most CC will double your MFW if needed.

Good Method To keep My Electronic Gear working

got it as a pc monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.looks and feels nice except for the tv stand. tv stand base is nice and heavy and metal. but the shaft and mount is plastic holding a ~50 pound tv. therefore it wobbles as you set up or whenever you touch. out of the box settings are ok but its annoying to find the right settings especially if you want to get rid of the stutterrinf on fast moving objects. also annoying how intelligent mode is not always the best, so i end up going back and forth between intelligent mode on and off. but when its off you have a myriad of settings to mess around with which gets annoying furthermore. so you either always have to compromise something using their preset settings or adjust/edit settings everytime you watch something different. so unless you are constabtly going to watch the same type of things, you may spend more time than you want messing with settings. the biggest thing that bothered me is when you see bright and still objects, you see like pixels or dots moving. like when u try to see how detailed someones pores are, you also see dots moving so it seems like you have a damaged tv? im not sure how to explain it or if it is a problem but it bothers me.
