It is so worth it to get the protection plan because if something breaks you just take it back and get a new one for free.

Have not needed it yet. I hope it works when I do need it. So here is to it working in the future.

Prior to purchasing this HDTV, I owned a Sony HDTV for 9 years. About 6 years after I purchased it, the picture started to fail. I purchased the protection plan as insurance in case I encounter any problems with this HDTV.
