    Its been a while since I used geek squad, but then again when I needed them THEY WERE THERE and did a great job. Great service, nice people and quick. Couldn't ask for more!

    I have nothing but GOOD things to say about the Protection Plan!! I'm not guaranteeing this will happen for everyone but it sure worked for us! We bought the 5 year plan on our previous 75" TV and when there was about 4 months left on the plan I noticed dark lines coming down from the top of the screen. Geek Squad came to the house and decided the panel was going out. It was also determined that the due to the TV being almost 5 years old a new panel would not be available for replacement. We connected with the most awesome young lady who walked us through our options and she also researched a new TV for us. We decided to go with a 77" Sony OLED because she said it had very few problems with 'burn-in'. Here's the best part....the Protection Plan credited every single penny of our purchase 5 years prior and we were able to put it towards the Sony. You just couldn't ask for anything better than that! The Plan is not cheap but it paid us back 7 times value! Protect yourself with the plan. You may never have to use it but, if you do, you'll be glad you bought it.

    What amazes me is the engineered life span of a new TV that makes getting this coverage virtually mandatory. My 42" Insignia died almost 5 years to the month of when I got it. I was then told my new 49" Sony would have about the same lifespan - if I'm lucky! If it dies within 5 years and they cannot fix it, I get a new one "free" if you don't count the cost of the Geek Squad protection. Go figure. When you add things like this to the fact you pay $200+/month for Comcast TV & Internet, the cost of entertainment has become an absurdity. It's enough sometimes for me to think about buying a TV at a thrift store and using "rabbit ears" antennas for actual free TV and save myself a lot of money to the tune of $3,000+ per year when you amortize it out to the TV's life span. Did you know that with FHA you can put a down payment TO BUY A HOUSE with what you spend on TV in 2-3 years??? Just the same, even if I just had TV "rabbit ears," the Internet has become a necessity the way a telephone is, it's a form of velvet-gloved robbery. So, hat's off to the Geek Squad for being there, to save us from our big, expensive TV's that have an engineered life span not unlike the cast from Blade Runner. I recommend it because it's now mandatory and no longer an option unless you're into gambling odds, with your TV lasting more than 5 years, not much different than the state lottery. Haven't needed Geek Squad to set up my TV, however given my past experience with them, with my computer, I expect no less than 5 stars.

    Our 1 year old Insignia TV lost the picture. I was fortunate to have purchased the Geek Squad Protection. The technician came to the house, assessed the issue and ordered a part. He assured us that he would return the next week and install the new part. When he came back to install, the TV failed. He promptly said "You get a new TV". He gave us a voucher for a same/similar TV. We had to return the dead TV. We promptly went to the Best Buy store, turned in the dead TV with the components, and they directed us to the TV dept. We found the same TV, one year newer, and completed the transaction. When we brought it home and set it up, everything loaded up from the Amazon account, and we were able to enjoy the evening. We recommend the Geek Squad, they were very professional and very accommodating to our needs.

    Usually extended warranty's are not worth the price, but with Best Buy I love it. When I had a problem in the past, Best Buy has taken great care of me with no hassles. They have made good when it counts. I may not get the additional protection, but for electronics which can have a high failure rate I always purchase from Best Buy and get the added protection. From what I have read and experienced their coverage is the best and typically the longest. I know of enough people who's TV has died after a year and a half (after the warranty), who were out of luck as they did not purchase the extended coverage. Also, I prefer buying TV's and many items at Best Buy vs all the competitors including Amazon who has given me terrible customer service.

    Never buy electronics without buying the ertra warranty. If something is going to happen to any piece of electronic equipment that you buy and you dont have the warrenty, you just wasted your money on the product

    Our tv's soind went on the fritz roght before my parents came in town. Nick helped us out over the phone to find a similar tv, but we couldnt confirm the availability of it in-store. I went in-person, scheduled a pickup delivery of the defective tv and picked up the replacement tv while I was there. Jason and Jennifer were awesome helping me out. Kim also called me to see how things went so far with the whole process. The return pickup was quick, but the credit took the longest...if you can help it, wait to have the Delivery team pickup the defective tv and replace your tv so you dont have to wait for any credit/refund. Based on your circumstances, you may not be able to go this route, but be prepared to wait a bit. Whenever I called the Support line to get an update, I was surprised that the information was slightly different each time.
