I am a big fan Jermaine Cole. This album is amazing. I actually brought over ten copies the day it came out and was giving it to random people around 44th street in Manhattan, NY that night. The album is far different from born sinner. you can sense he feels at ease with himself and just wants to give the audience music they can relate to. I will totally recommend this album to people. it does not mean you will relate to it as soon as you listen to it, but with time I guarantee you that there will be a song that you like, and that will be fine with me. long story short grab this album you will love it.

J.Cole takes pride in staying ahead of the competition. Many rappers have gone the route of rapping over 'trap' beats, but not Cole. Cole takes a soulful approach to the production on this album. He even laces a couple boom bap beats on songs 'firing squad' and 'wet dreams'. These happen to be a couple of the strongest songs on the album. My only suggestion would be to have less crooning and more focused lyrics that we know he's capable of.

This in my opinion is J Cole's best album to date, there's great production on here mainly done by himself and there's no features so it's a better listening experience.

Every track on this album is a banger! J. Cole used some samples that have been used before, but he gave them new life. Very consistent album. One of the better albums of 2014!

J Cole created a timeless record with 2014 Forest Hills Drives. He represents the voice of a new and progressive generation and tells relatable stories. The impressive thing about this release is there were no lead singles and no features. Just 100% Cole. I love it so much I bought it twice :) Support amazing artists!

I read a lot of reviews. Many were disappointed. Many I read were either saying that "rap is horrible" or the songs weren't "hard enough" "less hip hop". A true hip hop head knows this album was the most hip hop J Cole album to date. Just saying "4 your eyez only" 12/9/2016 support Cole y'all! #necessary
