Think about passing up Insignia and Geek Squad

With warranty still left in 2024 the TV fails again and they tell me it possibly won’t be covered/will be junked. What’s the purpose of the warranty???

Wouldn't Go Without It

A Best Buy Geek Squad Agent recently determined my Sony XBR-70X-850B had a bad panel / display after two years. I was provided a phone number to call for a replacement. Although I wasn't given "full credit" or what I paid for the TV two years ago, it was close to what I paid two year ago. I asked about upgrading to the Sony XBR-75X940D, and to my surprise, I was able to apply the "credit" towards a brand / model that was a "step-up" from what I had. Within 10 days, I had my new TV (Sony XBR-75X940D) delivered by two Best Buy Geek Squad agents and set up in my home. I won't ever go without the 5-year Standard Geek Squad Protection plan.

I needed their help to finish setting up our TV. I was so glad we bought the coverage! The way electronics are built these days, I always opt in for the insurance. The tech was friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable! I only wish they had more knowledgeable customer/phone support. My issue probably could have been solved over the phone.

Bought a 4-Year GSPP - I'm using it 3 years later!

That's why I always buy a Geek Squad Protection Plan! I've needed to use the warranties on several occasions, and the experience was very satisfactory. Sometimes they replaced the item, refunded the purchase price, or repaired the item. I actually have a 3 1/2 year old blu ray player in the Geek Squad shop right now--under a 4-year extended warranty that I purchased for the item! This time they are repairing it, but that's fine with me. It's so nice that after using it for 3 1/2 years, now that it's not working my extended warranty is kicking in and more than paying for itself!!!

Rude Installer and didn’t finish the job!!!

The worst experience I’ve EVER experienced with Best Buy and I always have them install stuff. The one guy was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! He didn’t do anything I put in my order and kept saying it wasn’t there. Then they didn’t even finish setting up my tv. If this the type of people they have working with them now I won’t be coming back! From the start to the end the man was Rude, rude, rude!!!! I asked for the cord to be hidden in the order, he said it wasn’t in there (in a snarky tone). I asked for the old tv to be relocated in the order. He said oh no I’ll have to charge you (again in a rude tone). He left without setting the tv up, but honestly I didn’t want his negative rude self in my house any longer anyways. Never again!!!

They are so reliable and competent with their knowledge and expertise. This is the best thing to have to bring you comfort in knowing if anything goes wrong, you are covered fir immediate repairs.

Worth it to me, last 2 televisions

It's about the people, so a big thanks to the technicians. If BB didn't have this, I would buy from another online retailer.

Geek Squad service protection is must!!!

However, I would recommend purchasing extended warranty coverage just incase. I did have a couple repairs done in the past. They were very satisfactorily performed with a high degree of professionalism. Be sure to purchase a Geek Squad Protection plan for all troubleshooting, service needs and operational advice.

Extra Geek Squad protection plans are worth it!
